Texas is scheduled to arr Bris:8th Feb, then Port Kembla:, before arr in Melb:13th Feb.
You must have bought a cancelled order, as it was apparently set to unload in Melbourne on 13th Feb, and not Bris.. Sound right to you? You are in Qld?
That would mean, it needs to go through Customs and Compliance there in melb, then be trucked to Qld. I would think the dealer is only guessing their receiving date.
Thanks so much allypally, Sorry should have said I have ordered it in Melbourne and thats where I will pick it up, Got a great deal and so will drive it back I have family there in Melbourne so 2 birds one stone! so any info would be welcome, the number is what I got off the dealer from his system? could there be another I could put the order screen u on the post if you like......thanks so much a great site and great people.

You need to consider rego. If you deliver in Melb, but live in Qld, you may need to cosider a transit rego. That will enable you to get a temp rego in Vic, to drive directly to Qld, then register it there.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Here is the conversation Magoomba:

Alan Are you the dealer who recently delivered a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, forgot to install the rear camera, forgot to order the towbar, only just realised that front bar you ordered would not fit the new car and therefore could not install... aerials and lights? All this even though you had several months notice? Now the new owner has to tavel 100's on klms to get that work done at a later date? Hardly good customer service don't you think?See More

Alan Hard to call as I am in Sydney. Heard the story in a pub, so wanted to know whether it was true or not. Interesting to see how the internet can spread the word when things go wrong.. Now if a salesman stuffs up, and has an attitude that " have your money now, so you are on your own" word spreads.Friday at 4:33pm LikeUnlike

Meanwhile, mine sits in 100's of pieces awaiting for someone to pick up a spanner and assemble it.

There is still your first one if it hasn't already been allocated .

BTW there is a promising update on the Jeep Australia Facebook site regarding the hooks. I've posted it on the "No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help" thread.

Did you buy from Northern Motor Group in Victoria by any chance? I'm also in QLD and am happy to buy interstate. NMG phone me regularly with an update and options on forthcoming stock. I would be happy to buy from them based on the extra yards the salesman is going to to get me in the right car! (You couldn't PM me with an insight into the deal you got? I have a quote from QLD transport to rego up here and so far on paper, other than the transport costs,(and I would be happy to drive it back) it looks to be the cheaper option).

Delivery is quoted as mid February, and we will have the use of the company demonstrator "Laredo" until the replacement arrives. It has taken some time and considerable anguish, but the positive result arrived just before legal representation got involved and the relationship went completely pear shaped.
Hopefully I may now sleep a little better

Update !!! The replacement Overland is at the dealers and we are on schedule to take delivery on Friday. In the meantime we have added 3000km to the odo on the Laredo CRD we have had the use of while we wait for our new one.
Our original Overland is finally back up and running after being off the road for just on two months. The whole problem completely revolved around software!! It now has 7000km on the clock and will be on the market next week $10K under list $NZ 87990.

Cheers Chris
