Looks good magoomba
Good to see another silver Laredo crd in the top end
Will look good when you finally get all the extras fitted
Did you see that ARB are making a bullbar for them should be ready about mid year
Now get out and get it dirty
Only a couple more months and we can start to camp up this way again
If you keep your eyes open you might see ours down your way next weekend, heading down to Kath to visit family

Saw one demoed at Auslec last year, bit hard to tell in daylight how well it works.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The only issues i can think about having the lightbar down there are..
If a bullbar/winch plate comes out, it will most likely sit around that area, hence it would cover the lights.
If i did any more extreme 4WDing, i would remove the front lip/trim to get extra clearance, but with the lights sitting at same height, i would lose a little bit of height and approach angle.

Wonder if you could do somthing weird like place 2 smaller light strips vertical in the outside grill holes.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Phew! Just finished reading this thread after ordering my overland on Friday. What a lot of useful info, well worth the time spent getting up to speed

The tow hook issue is a real concern. I can't believe that a company with the off road credentials of Jeep could supply a real 4WD without adequate tow points. It just beggars belief. I better have a chat with the dealer and see if I can screw something else out of him as a sweetener, especially if Jeep intends to slug us for the tow hook fix, which is how I read the company responses to date. Whatever I screw out of them better be a genuine freebie, not like the mats they included for free - according to the build sheet CLZS luxury front/rear floor mats w/ logo is standard equipment!

I take it that ORA II pack must be specified at the time of ordering and cannot be added on later? My Overland is a cancelled order already at Port Kembla in quarantine so there was no opportunity to specify it earlier. Given I will have Quadratrac II and Quadralift on the vehicle, am I just missing the bash plates and 18" wheels?

I am also in a quandary as to whether to buy an extended warranty or not. The brochure I was shown said Chrysler Jeep and added 2 years and 75000km on the original warranty for $2400. Normally I wouldn't have considered it, but reading through these threads it sounds like it would pay for itself if I made a claim, given the cost of parts. I don't know the ACL has been tested to the point where it is clear as to the manufacturers liability.

Couple of other questions, as clearly you guys have had a lot more time to obsess about your new purchase than I have. LOL.

I am considering the side steps but want to know if they provide any protection to the lower doors from mud, stones etc. It looked like there there was a fair gap between the chassis and the steps from what I have seen. Anyone who has fitted them able to comment?

Regarding the SATNAV, anyone know who the map supplier is, how old the maps are and how often the updates become available? Do they have red light and speed cameras in the POIs or are you able to load in custom POIs?

Thanks all for all the useful info.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

SAT nav is basic.
No red light cameras.
Can program your own POI but not up loadable.
Maps a out of date. Suppose to be an update late first quarter early second.
What I hear they are costly. I complained to the state rep when i first got mine, never got a reply back.

Yours will have Quadradrive not quadratrac.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Enjoy! you got lucky.

i got underbody plates fitted for about $650. If you are doing any kind of off roading you will need them i think they add about 50kgs to the weight but the plastic fuel tank covers would be useless against any serious bumps.

I figured that would be the case with the SATNAV

I actually have both quadradrive and quadratrac according to my build sheet:

DKAS Quadra-Trac II 4WD System
AWBP Quadra-Drive II 4WD System

Which is interesting because Quadra-Trac II is not shown as being available either standard or as an option for the Overland vehicle specs on the Jeep Australia website only as part of the ORA II pack

I also have the following shown which look like part of the ORA II pack if I am reading the website correctly:

DLKP 3.45 Rear Axle Ratio
DSFP Elec LTD Slip Differential Rear Axle
DR1P 230mm Rear Axle

However, I see no reference to skid plates and I have 20" wheels, so clearly I don't have the ORA II pack.

Also, looking at the build sheet, does anyone know what the following is?

YHTA 3.2 Additional gallons of diesel

Cheers

Re: WK2 DownUnder

all the overland build sheets shows quadratrac.
The further down it should have remove QTII
Quadratrac is the base of quadradrive.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Thanks DT

Remove QTII is not shown, nor are there any other references to Quadra trac II. However, reading up on the difference between the two, it is clear I can only have one or the other.

Cheers
