Re: WK2 DownUnder

Has anyone got the dealer to swap the 20" wheels for the 18" wheels? If so, did they try to slug you extra? I'm not talking about changing wheels by ordering the ORA II pack.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I considered it when looking at a limited and the dealer was happy to do it at no cost. It makes a Laredo easier to sell for someone not interested in offroad work.

On the subject of spare parts: I'm trying to source a more reasonable price for the oil filters which at $100 is a big rip off and at $55 is still a rip off! Having info on where to source cheaper consumables would help most owners.

By the way, my dealer uses Castrol SLX Professional 5W-30 engine oil. I'm now trying to source this oil from a cheaper source and will let you know what I find.

Just a further thought on the oil filter for the CRD.

Isnt this the same VM Motori engine that's in the new Nissan Pathfinder Ti550? If it is, and they happen to use the same oil filter, then the Ryco part number is Z142A.

Neil at Sydney Filters answered me this morning, saying that their supplier (MANN filters in Germany) have them in production now but they wont be available here for about 6 months,

Hi all

Looks like I got lucky - due to some reason unknown to me a 2012 Overland CRD became available and I jumped on it.

Was told to expect it by the end of march.

I wasn't aware the pathfinder had a VM Motori engine, good question.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Looks like another cancelled order from some frustrated wannabe Jeep owner. Or, if it is red, it could be my first order.

Nope, the CRD is a cartridge type filter, not a spinoff like the Z142A.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Doesn't the Nissan STX550 have a Renault diesel? I thought Nissan were in league with Renault.

Not sure ... seems to be a tangled web on that. Some sites say its a Renault engine designed by VM Motori, for Nissan ... others say made by VM Motori.

I dont know if they're the same or not, but hell they're similar in spec.

Anyway, Enforcer cleared it up so all good.

Totally Different Engines.

The VM Motori engine in the JGC is the A630. It has a 60 deg block. There is no mention on the VM Motori website of it ever having produced an engine for either Renault or Nissan BTW. Info on the A630 engine here:

http://www.allpar.com/mopar/V6/VM-RA-diesel.html

The Pathfinder and Navara use the V9X which is designed and produced by the Nissan-Renault Alliance. It has a 65 deg block. Info on that engine here:

http://www.pressportal.com.au/news/1...008-11-20.html

Cheers

When was your oder placed. I've placed mine, and have been told it will be an April build to expect it in June. Just need to work out how to track it from here on in. Has one of you guys mentioned seeing the build sheet during production?
