Drag your mouse over it.
Software update?????
That's a new one. Maybe Jeep Oz are putting "Virtual Front Hooks" on the car.
Just checked WK2.Jeep, and there was a TSB issued 27th March in relation to the Hands Free. Appears to relate to enhancements and better clarity. However the TSB mentions cars built upto 1st January.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

So Ive just arrived in Melb after towing this down the Hume from Sydney. Tow weight is under 1400kg so I expected pretty low fuel consumption. Instead I end up at 14.5L/100. Seems high considering others achieved much less towing similar weights... sat on 110 +/- 5km/h, so maybe others were running more slowly?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The wind drag may have had more impact than the weight

We are in Ballarat having come 2200k from the Gold Coast last week down the Newell towing our van that goes 2150KG loaded.
With only 1600k on the clock before we left the Jeep is still very tight. I found that speed tended to run away so used cruise control most of the time set to 96. If there was a wind it was on the tail.
On arrival the EVIC is saying 13.2 - might change when I fill up and put the actual fuel fills through a calculator. Compare though with our previous 3l auto Patrol that averaged 16.37l/100km with the same van over 125,000k.
Brilliant tow vehicle.
Very likely the difference was in speed - ours saw 105 only a couple of times passing other traffic.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I would have thought you would get better, I get that towing more weight through hills. With 7000 K's on the clock

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Any speed over 100km/h seems to make the car drink more.
At 100km/h I was seeing 9's, at 120 it was 13l/100km.
Guess that means it uses 40% more fuel to get 20% more speed.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I think all those figures look good. 14's while towing is very good.

The boat is nice and sleek, would have a fairly low drag.
BUT the trailer would kill all that. The length and ribs.
A van the same size would most likely create less drag.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

It has a bit over 3000km on the clock now... perhaps that is a contributor. Im heading from Burnie to Hobart on Wednesday and no doubt will be running slower so will share results!

My perspective is that 14.5 is pretty good at that speed for a load like that, in a car that new.

My old Jackaroo at 105 (+/-), towing a loaded large enclosed box trailer (6x4x4), usually got 18l/100km.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Went to dealer yesterday to pick up a loan car (a crappy old Suzuki) and he told me that they cannot get any vehicles from Prixcar until they can be reflashed. Apparently Chrysler will not even allow them to sell the ones they already have in the showroom until they can do the software update.
The catch is that Chrysler has not yet released the update!

So delivery date has been moved back again to "we will know more after Easter"
