Re: WK2 DownUnder

Ok, so small speed differences make a pretty big fuel difference. Devonport to Launceston at 95-100 and the result is 12.8 (indicated, not measured).

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I got around 11L/100 towing 1700kg of race car and trailer. Slightly more aerodynamic, and only for 500ks though

The catch is that Chrysler has not yet released the update!

So delivery date has been moved back again to "we will know more after Easter"
Got the same info from my dealer. They were still waiting for the software to arrive from US. Delivery may be sometime late next week.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

ok whats up with the towbar for wk2? dealer said it is cheaper for me to get it done through HR (he gave me HR contact to get it done for $750). I did not know about re flashing canbus etc as i did not know that at the time of the order so i did not go for the factory fitted two bar. So does re flashing needed for Aus wk2s? or does it only apply to US models?

did any one go for parking sensors for laredo? my friend has limited, driving that around sydney was annoying as the parking sensors always went beep beep for smallest shrub. So given laredo has reverse camera std , I am thinking just to go for the parking sensors in the front (to stop wife crashing the car at car parks). Dealer quoted $490 for the front parking sesnors.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Yes I added front and rear sensors to my Laredo, we have them on our Mondeo and find them useful. With the lease company fleet discount I got them and the towbar included for $54k driveaway (CRD) but they were written up as $1400 fitted. If $490 is a fitted price for the fronts, you're doing well. Cheers.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

There is a button on the dash to disable the front sensors in close situations. We used it when driving through long grass.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Out on the weekend on narrow off road tracks, and a little rock crawling.
Found the front sensors useful to keep me from scraping any big rocks or bushes on tight turns.
Hill descent works unreal down a loose slippery rocky slope.
Tried to video it but stuffed that up hit pause as I put the camera on the stand on the dash. Sh1t myself on the way down, not the best thing to do on 20" tyres. ($ in my mind) Got to the bottom and nothing on the camera.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

thanks guys, dealer said delivery in June, now its a waiting game. Peter warren did not budge on the price, they wanted 55k for CRD without out any accessories. parramatta jeep was much better as they offered lower price without even bargaining. I went for side steps and front parking sensors (53k). impression I got about the tow bar is that they send their GC to HR to get the tow bar fitted. will decide if to get it done through HR or Jeep when the car is here.

Been pretty happy so far with my dealings with Parramatta Jeep. I'd recommend them.

I had the towbar included when I bought mine from them. It was a genuine Mopar, not HR.

Similar call here. Told today it is being placed on the truck and I should have it in the later part of next week. Also having tow bar installed (Mopar).

This wait is torture.

UPDATE: 5 Apr 2012

Call from Dealer predelivery area stating car has arrived there. Am torn between excitment and disappointment that it will just sit there over the 4 day easter break having little if anything done to it.

Tell me about it, mine was off loaded in Fremantle last Monday, went to Keydale for compliance on Thursday, but of course, with Easter, would not be touched till next week, probably will not get it till week after, ordered late Nov, the wait is agonizing..

Rgs,

Nigel

PS. Can't wait to update my avitar as well, but can't cheat with someone elses pic.
