Exciting isn't it. I picked mine up yesterday.

I'm just really disappointed that there are no recovery hooks and the dealer state that Chrysler Jeep Australia state the screw in bolt found in the boot can be utilised for front end recovery.

It put a damper on the whole experience.

I will be submitting my complaints to all I believe are responsible to address this issue.

Exciting yes but got screwed too much on this. Killed most of the fun. Waiting for the call from dealer right now. I bet recovery hooks will be the same as you got. But will not let this go without a good fight.

Dont get too excited. I have seen cars sit at Curtis Bay in that state for weeks. Hopefully though, your's wont follow that pattern and be on a ship within days.

With an anticipated delivery end of June, I suppose it's likely to wait a while for the next ship? Whats the usual sailing time from Curtis to Oz?

It is highly unlikely you would get a VIN Nr from a dealer until they actually had it in their yard. You could obtain an Order nr from them though. That should be obtainable after a couple of weeks of your placing an order, although many find the Dealer extremely reluctant to part with that information. Take the view that the dealer will not be very helpful once they have your deposit, and you won't be too dissapointed.
Once you have an Order number, and after becomming a financial supporter of this forum, you can track the new car, and once you see it has left the assembly line, you can then request a Build sheet, which will have the VIN nr.

If you need to have the car on or by a specific date, then you need that detailed in the purchase contract, with a course of action to be taken if the car is not delivered by that set date. It would be hard to find a dealer willing to add such a clause, but you can try.

The VIN is assigned about a week before it gets built but some dealer do not like giving out the VIN and will find all sort of excuses. However the dealer should be able to give you at least the order number a few days after ordering and with this you can track your vehicle here.

If your dealer cannot deliver on time you wait. My contract said I could get out of the contract if delivery is more than 30 days late but there is really no choice as all you can do is get back into the queue with another dealer.

With you 200% getting all things mentioned in the contract. And once you've read it, read it again, and then finally read it again properly before signing. Not all thing written are in the favour of the buyer. If the tracking shows a delivery date late May, does this mean to Australia, the Dealer or me?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Dates on Tracking are ONLY ESTIMATES.
They would be losely based on the arrival at the docks.
A late May delivery would man the car would need to be on a ship within the next week.
