Re: WK2 DownUnder

Got a phonecall from Paramatta Jeep yesterday.
"Hi, we have a Grand Cherokee Overland ĒRD which has just come in. Still want one"?
Looks like they have a cancelled order. Didnt ask the colours.

That's who I got mine from. Same story, but they later admitted they put in dummy orders (as most dealers do) just to get some stock to sell. They try to pick the colours/options they think will sell. I am pretty happy with their service and would buy from them again, although a new dealership has opened in Castle Hill just down the road. I work in Parramatta so both will be convenient.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I got mine from the new dealership in Castle Hill just down the road from me, I decided on colour and specs and had car delivered within 5 days. They told me that as a new dealership they got some additional reserve stock from Jeep Aus. Other dealers still had a couple of months waiting time when I enquired.
I had a good experience with the new Castle Hill dealership - hope that continues to the service department.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I was told October now for delivery of any CRD.
The dealer had 10 ready to go to new owners.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

OK my QL issue, not going to OR1 or OR2.

After pressure cleaning my jeep today, I got in and started it up.
Then noticed the EVIC informing me it was in OR2.

LOL

What now.
Gone from not going to OR1 3 orange lights on the selector button just flashing for ever. To pushing the button and nothing happening. To all working normally after pressure cleaning the car. Note I did not clean under the bonnet.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I have a recollection that some time back I saw a post on the US side re a Ql problem and the poster noted QL issues and a report by the dealer they found a plug connection under the front that was "water saturated". It was cleaned and dried out and his problem went away....
The idea was sort of pooh poohed i think but maybe it might relate?
Might it be a connection issue somewhere?
Fingers crossed anyway it stays fixed.
It would be nice to find out it would be a good idea to silicone up a plug joint.

I think everyone having ongoing issues like this should get to know the new Australian consumer law. For DT sounds like the vehicle is definitely not fit for the purpose you purchased it for. Look at section 260 of the act. I have had to familiarise myself with it recently, and am asking for a replacement under the new ACL that came into effect in January 2011.

Dropped in and spoke to the guys at Castle Hill Jeep. Was introduced to the manager and asked him about the front tow hook issue. He had absolutely no idea that there are no tow hooks on the current model and admitted that as a new dealer, they don't know a lot about the vehicles! At least he was honest. To his credit, he took my name and number and promised to raise it with the State Manager on Monday and get back to me. Pretty good service as I am not a customer, though I might try them come service time.

They are operating out of a converted shipping container in the corner of the Heartland Motors lot. They had around 10 JGC on the lot, mainly Laredos, I only saw one Overland in petrol. Good range of colours though.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

HI, O ordered a Mineral Grey SRT8 last week in Perth, have been told August Delivery but nothing definite yet as the vehicle hasn't been launched yet here in Oz. Does anyone have any ideas on the base spec for the vehicle delivered to OZ, has anyone seen any of the dealer demo cars that are meant to be floating around here and there?
cheers

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Altough a car has been sighted in Melb, and we know that there are definitely SRT cars already in Oz, no one has seen them at dealerships or aware of any difference in specs than the US ones.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

There are only Jeep AU cars here now. All the dealers will be getting one in the next month or so.
They will only have 2 options (aside from colour) and that is Pano roof and DVD. All will have the premium audio. Have a look in the SRT8 thread for more details.
