I work in Parramatta so both will be convenient.
re Parramatta jeep: they told me the same story, apparently they got caught few times doing dummy orders. if you cancel/change your order they will not tell jeep aus, and get the car anyway. I purchased mine from there, I found them to have the cheapest prices, but they donít have much GCs to test drive. So I went to peter warren jeep at warwick farm (normally got all the GC models available) then test drive all the models and buy from cheapest dealer in Sydney I could find.

have you taken yours for service at Parramatta jeep? how you find it? I am thinking of taking mine to peter warren or ultra tune or similar. dealer actually recommended getting servicing done outside jeep (save money) and telling me it will not void warranty as long as it done through a approved service place.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Had an interseting situation on friday. Pulled into the petrol station for my very first refuel. Stopped by the bowser, and hit the fule release, then the STOP?START button. The motor ran on for a second or so, then all the warning lights glowed and chimes started ringing out. Headlights came on.
When the engine did cutout, I tried to restart, but nothing. I refueled the car, paid the for fuel, then got back into the car. Again tried the button, but got nothing. I then removed the button, and inserted the fob into the slot. That enabled me to restart the engine.
Drove home, stopped the car. replaced the button, and all was working again. Weird.

I'm beginning to question the quality and reliability of these cars. Great when things are working but there seem to be issues such as you describe popping up with no reason too often.

I've had ACC failure while it was active and unable to switch it back on yet starting later that day without issue.

There are reports and I have experienced mirrors unfolding inconsistently.

In the last few days I have noticed my vehicle rising to normal mode from park mode when I simply start the motor!!!

In the last few days I have the radio playing music from the HDD in shuffle mode but frequently now begins playing a song without sound and continues that way until I skip to the end or the beginning of it!!!

Not sure if the issues I am experiencing are due to the flashing (RRT 12 - 024) at its free 1500 service this last week!!!

Anyone know what this RRT 12 - 024 required flash was addressing?

And let's not forget the Navigation software that is somewhat useless.

RRT12-024 was to address the intermittent no-start on the CRD. It is to get TSB 08-022-12 quickly.

Well I'll be buggerred! I didn't know the button was removable. How did you do it? I had noticed the circular arrow marking on the button but I couldn't get it to do anything. My manual doesn't mention it being removable.

I only have had the free 1000km service at this stage. I am probably going to do the oil change myself, or at least supply the oil. You can get the oil filter free with a coupon from mopar when you have the service done through an authorized Jeep service centre. However, if you do the oil change yourself you save $$$ on oil, labour and disposal of used oil ( the waste station at Seven Hills will take up to 10lt of used oil free for residents of The Hills). I'll have to cost it out.

What is the situation with having the service done with a non jeep rice centre? I would have thought a place like Ultra Tune wouldn't have access to the software updates etc. Could Jeep knock you back on a warranty claim if it is not serviced by a Jeep trained mechanic? I have always had my cars serviced at the dealerships during warranty periods previously. Out of warranty I have not been quite as pedantic.

Closer to the 10k service I will compare Parramatta Jeep and Castle Hill for prices.

I'm sure it was in the user manual...but you simply use the key in your fob to prize off the button.

Page 199 in the 2011 manual. Should be somewhere around there for the 2012 too.

But using the ignition node is on Page 12.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

You can remove the Start/Stop button with your fingernail, providing you can get under the button lip. Using a paperclip or small screwdriver would be easier. It just pushes back in easily.

Thanks guys! Found it on page 215 of my manual. Presumably everything up to page 215 was more important
