Re: WK2 DownUnder

looks like the ship carrying my jeep either sunk or not transmitting its location. Last update was 4 days ago. is it normal to loose track of the ship over pacific ocean? I am using http://www.marinetraffic.com/ to track it.

You should see it again once it's within a few kms of land. Lost mine for two weeks whilst it sailed from Panama to NZ.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

It is normal for the ship tracking to lose the ship when close to port. Dont panic, if the ship bypasses your port, it will loop around the globe and drop your car off next time.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Today got the 1,000 service (inspection) Had the free sidesteps, towbar, as well as the new Front Recovery Hook installed (not charged).
I had complained about the Navigation issue, but they reported the latest software was already installed. They also installed TSB 12-024 which they think was the fix for my recent unable to start issue.

My front hook is on order according to the dealer so looks like those who have made the point are being sorted.....
At our 10k service last week one of the TSB's was noted as 12-024 and the receptionist couldn't tell me what it was for. Be nice to know what it actually did - the WK2Jeeps site doesn't list it.

I got quite regular updates across the Pacific. Unfortunately their system goes down every now and then and they are a bit slack at fixing it. Or maybe it's sun spots. Also, I was plotting the coordinates on Google Earth but occasionally they got one of the signs wrong and I found the ship suddenly time warped into another hemisphere.

Thanks GlennR
saw a report from a WK2 CRD (33000 on the clock) owner yesterday whose Jeep refused to start until jumper leads were connected. Wasn't a flat battery - just got cranky apparently.
maybe this is the fix.....
John
