Re: WK2 DownUnder

Happy New Year All.

Looking to get my hands on a CRD Laredo with QL, towbar, off-road pack. Was hoping the generous people here in this thread wouldn't mind posting some of the prices they paid for their GC so i can have a reasonable figure to work with when going into the dealer (have a tendancy to get ripped off). Been going through as many of the posts here looking for prices but not sure i will be able to get through them all by the time i hit the dealers tomorrow.

Specs don't have to be the same as mentioned (missus is still keen on an Overland, but QL and Diesel is a must for us). Appreciate any info you guys can share. Cheers.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Might be an idea if you posted your location.
No point in giving you dealers in WA if you are in Fiji or NZ

Re: WK2 DownUnder

My advice is get as much factory fitted suff as you need but avoid any dealer fitted or dealer supplied items. QL and off-road pack is factory fitted therefore good. Tow bar is dealer fitted therefore not so good. Most things you can import from the States much quicker and much cheaper than you can get them from the dealers. If things were equal we would always support the local bloke but they aren't by a long shot and we are not charities. If you are mechanically handy or your mate is a mechanic, stay away from the dealers. They time their mechanics. If they don't have the time to do it right, too bad for you. Unfortunately tow bars for Australian Jeeps are specially made in NZ and can be bought only through dealers but you can fit it yourself. Alternatively you can get a Hayman-Reese dealer to fit one of their bars.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Thanks BobT will definitely consider leaving the towbar out if the price gets too high as its not an urgent item. Not that mechanically savvy myself but sure i can bribe a few mates with a case of beer. Mind if i ask how much you paid for your Laredo?

If you can wait the GC will get the 8 speed tranny in the next few months, I'd hold out for that if I were in the market

I agree. Check out the 2014 sticky thread in the main wk2 forums...

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Yeah that was the plan initially, have been following that thread quite religiously but decided the upgrades weren't enough to compensate for the unusual facelift on the MY14. I know its still early days and there arent yet any official pics that show it in a better perspective but still not that keen on the design. Doesn't quite grab you like the current model does.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

At this point in time, wait for the MY14.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hi Guys,

Help me out here. Just completed my 1K on the CRD Limited. Rang the Jeep Service Chullora Sydney to make the book. He told me that there will be a service change of 280 bucks. I thought I read somewhere that the first 1K service is free.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

That's total BS. I'd call the dealer and clarify but I don't know anyone who's had to pay a cent.
