Re: WK2 DownUnder

+1 it should be free. (Mine was). Your dealer should have mentioned this when you bought it. Not sure if you take it to a different service centre - if they are going to charge you, I'd leave it. I don't believe it is part of the scheduled servicing someone might be able to confirm that.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The sales rep didn't mention anything about the 1K service at all. It wasn't until i was browsing the forums that I actually found out that 1K service was to be done.

The service manager mentioned that 1K service requires oil and filter change. I am thinking this car is less than 2 months old, why would it require the oil and filter change at 1K??? Did anyone have oil and filter change at 1K?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

They don't specify an oil and filter change at 1k - its a freebie from the selling dealer and generally only a pat on the bonnet, unless you have some little niggles you have found that need a pat too.
Some dealers don't offer it at all.
If you don't have any issues that require taking it back - don't worry about it.
And the price of $280 you were quoted for a service - if that included the oil and filter then it is a BIG bargain (in Australia). I'd be checking what oil was included and if it was a full synthetic that complies with Chrysler spec.

My dealer advised 1k check not needed. See me at 10k. Had no problems.

Amazing what happens when you offer a good product at a fair price.. Toyota has been ripping us blind with their over priced Prado etc for too long so hopefully Jeep GC gives them a wake up call.

Just wish more of the aftermarket suppliers would take notice and step up into to the game.

I'm probably somewhat ok as I plan to keep my CRD for 10years and am setting it up to tour, (same as my last KJ), so I will have time to add on bits over this time.
Just feel sorry for the lease owners as I think by the time the aftermarket guys realise the market potential, your lease will nearly be up:-(

I will have had my GC for 1 year on 18/1/13 and I intend changing over early 2014 so I can sell it with around 9 - 10 months warrenty remaining. To change in early 2014 means an order around September 2013 - 9 months time. So I have already started to think twice about any further mods. I really wanted a nudgebar (with light tabs!!!!!) from day one and maybe rock rails, maybe a snorkel and a few other things. I just don't think I'm going to bother now. I'll keep my money in my pocket.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The dealers here in Oz would not have a clue on even the release of MY14 in the USA let alone here.
You would probably get better info from a cleaner at a Suzuki dealership.
My guess is that if the MY14 is released to dealers in March, then you could be looking at June for Oz. It really depends on when the factory commences building export models.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Went by a dealer the other day in Sydney, I don't know if he was withholding information but I doubt it, he had no idea to be honest.

I'm going to try another dealer next week after the launch in Detroit. He seemed to have his finger on the pulse a little more about the '13, so maybe he might be informed about the '14. I'll post what I find out here as soon as I do the drop by.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

the wise ones should be on here sniffing out sales, I recon they could pick up some easy wins !.. i guess they don't care as the cars are selling by themselves and they want to move all the MY13 units.
