Re: WK2 DownUnder

Ordered Black Laredo CRD Leather, tow bar and brake controller 4/11/2012. Due 19/1/2013.

Delivered 14/3/2013.

Drives like a charm, not sure about the leather, should have got done here. Slight play in the steering so going back tomorrow to be fixed. Still worth the wait

Re: WK2 DownUnder

2700.00 list. The whole package including tow bar and brake controller was 57300. Not a lot of discounts for diesels going around then, I suspect not a lot going now.
The jeep is back in today to get the slop out of the steering and they are looking at the seats as at present I am not super happy with them. They need a bit more padding but the guys at the dealers assure me that they will be as comfortable as the cloth originals so I will keep you posted.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Which brake controller did you go for, and where did they locate it?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Was going to have a Red Arc and just mount the knob on the dash but after reading the scathing posts re non proportional controllers I got a Tekonsha P3 instead. Mounted just by my left knee which is not the best but is accessible for the emergency lever. The dealer mounted it on a permanent bracket but the box also included a snap in holder which I have since fitted. I'll post a picture once the jeep is back

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Got the Jeep back with the steering fixed. A clamp bolt had been installed the wrong way round on the steering column so was allowing the free play. The Jeep foreman said he had seen it once before. The seats are still an ongoing issue. Still would not be ordering leather on a Laredo until this is sorted out.
Pictures of Tekonsha mount are attached

The leather on Laredo's is an aftermarket fit - they don't have a factory option. I was suprised with this but at the same time, I've seen aftermarket better quality than some factory! (Not specifically Jeep)

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Guys,
Read a recent thread somewhere where one of our fellow owners has installed "neoprene" seat covers (same material as wet suits and side airbag compatible) purchased in Victoria. I've trawled the forum until my eyes have dried up and can't for the life of me find the thread. Price was just over $200 for the fronts.......Any helpers out there?

Roachy was right...it is in a thread called BMackin WK2 Build & Adventure - Post #14 - didn't post a link because it might not be the right thing to do.....I'm sure you already know the way there.
The company is called Supertrim - Supertrim.com.au | Neoprene , Vinyl and Canvas Seat Covers, for all major car brands
Good luck
