Car should be here in a month, so October would be good for me, otherwise, I'll have to join the next one.

I'm keen but not in October as I'll be working abroad most of the month. I'm in Perth. I'll fall into the beginners though, heck call it a Virgin of offroaders.

I still need to source some after market or a fabricator for front hooks, I know there are some on here who have designed some but none are selling yet.

Any takers?

Hi Barboots, the MY14's have a slightly different select terrain system to the MY11/12/13 they have separated the sand and mud modes, as yet I have not heard of any MY14's having the sand fail problem, they may of fixed it finally, front tow hooks from factory would be good, has any one with a MY14 tried the jeep au hook to see if it fits?

There is a photo in the other thread. I'm still confused about this. Plenty of people have tried but failed to get their dealer to fit the recovery hook - but here it is. Oh, and it looks like an overland too, so what's going on with the bumper? I thought the overland were different and did not have the knock out. Very confusing....

Anyone had a car with drawers/fridge slide before? Much rattle? General thoughts?

I'm thinking if Uneek come through with this rear bar with tyre carrier I might use the space under the floor for a couple of auxiliary batteries, then put in one drawer with fridge slide on top, cargo divider in the middle, then leave the other half as is for the pups.
Something like this, but without the other drawer on the other side, and I'd have it on the right where the cigar plug is.

They are a fantastic asset to your set-up, but watch for the weight addition. I'd suggest cargo barrier "resonance" is something you might end up hearing... but drawer systems that rattle don't last in the marketplace.

Ciao,
Steve

Go to bed Steve! Well past your bedtime!

... I think I should follow my own advice!

In regards to a rear mountable spare.. I'd definitely be up for that!

Studgun, I have a set of Drifta drawers with a built in fridge slide in my Prado. No, they don't rattle at all. I'd love to swap them into the GC when it arrives, but the spare wheel location is the killer for me....

Sweet.

If you're not already a member of AJOR get over there and tell Dave from Uneek that you're keen on a rear tyre carrier, and comment on his other proposals. He's really supporting the WK2 market so we need to support him.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I've got a question.. which would you guys prefer on your WK2 for 80/20 city driving/offroad (which entails, unsealed gravel roads and sand) ?

Falken WildPeak AT LT275/65r18
Cooper Discoverer AT3 P265/60r18

The Falken's are $67 per corner cheaper, but I'm worried that they won't be as good in the wet on tarmac and as quiet as the AT3's.
