G'Day

They are saying as of this afternoon that their records show it is a Granite. So I said to this particular fellow "how do you know if your computer network has been down for 4 weeks closer to 5. You only just this last two days with me pressing hard you have given me a VON so do you have a VIN? The response was NO! So I explained that I'd been up till 2 am joining the jeep garage in an attempt to ascertain if indeed the build had commenced or was inactive due to the computer problems jeep australia were having. I further advised I had a VIN and that I also had both the Multi VIN Summary Report and the official jeep Equipment Listing VIN Document both confirming DCR colour and not the GRANITE ordered.

Shock Horror Surprise

Either they have got the E number wrong, or they have ordered the wrong colour. Do all the other details on the build sheet match your order? I remember when we ordered ours, originally told 6 weeks, that quicly changed to 2 months, then 6 months. It ended up arriving 7 months after we ordered. It wouldn't have been such a problem if they were up front about it, but it seems they just like to keep their customers guessing. We ended up selling our old car, and hired a car for 5 months due to the delay.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I have not heard of a build sheet with incorrect information on it. If that sheet says DCR colour, then you can bet the Opera House that is the colour the paint shop applied.
I have also not known the factory to get the order wrong.
However, I certainly have heard of Jeep Australia, as well as the dealers screwing up. I know because they built 2 Grand Cherokees for me, and BOTH had the wrong colour given to the factory.
What you now need to decide is whether you will accept the DCR, or go through the whole process once again, and maybe wait another 3 months.
Very Good Luck.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Thats pretty stupid. They should have been able to supply the E-number from about Jan 10. That's a full business after it hit D1 status, so it would be all confirmed. Build sheet would exist from Jan 22nd (Aus time), the day after it was built.

Even though Milous doesn't get it wrong, it's Jeeps own build sheet you now have that you stick n their face if this is in fact your VIN.
Keep calm until they confirm your VIN, not VON, but VIN.

Correct no GEG what ever that is.

Still like to know why the build sheet lists all windows tinted when I was told Laredos dont have tint. Sure looks like it has tint in all windows and I'm assuming the windscreen has a tinted visor strip???

While I'm here could someone tell me what the (Buy) in the following indicates. ( I understand the diesel gets the ZF out of Germany)

DFD 8-Spd Auto 8HP70 Trans (Buy)

Also, there is JLPP GPS Antenna Input why is that there?

I thought all Aussie Grands come with the tow group which has, or at least had, a 220A alternator. Perhaps they have cut back on the alternator because of the use of LEDs.
