Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well that just sticks in my craw!

Rocksfly ordered 30/12/2013
Benn0 ordered 28/11/203

Rocksfly departed Curtis Bay 7/2/2014
Benn0 still sitting in Charlevoix shipping yard......

I did order beige interior, maybe that takes longer?

Just on this:

As I understand it they don't start builds in December, which is why mine sat on order until Jan....

eBay - jeep grand cherokee side steps | eBay

There are few that have them, see who is cheaper with freight.
See this thread - Chrome Side Steps

The colour is almost as nice as red.

Correct, rear qtr is same as back window = privacy glass. Rear tints can legally be darker than front tints. I could have requested the fronts to be the same, not sure if it would have been done, I simply asked for darkest legal.

Ignore what you’re seeing on the build, it is just confusing you. That pic I did earlier is of an Aus Loaredo, you can clearly see there is no tint at all on the rear passenger and front windows.

Cheers Snuke.

Sent Email to my salesman a.m. this morning (no response) and your salesman who was going to ring me asap this morning as of Friday when it all came to a head....neither have called.

Walk-ins (busy with a customer) off the street are more important to them than those who have paid a deposit.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Pretty much as I expected. I knew you would have to call them to chase it up. Although you do need to give them a little bit of time to see what has happened.
So they have to double check with Jeep Aus etc… and if they are as helpful to their dealers as they are to consumers, as I have been told they are, then it will be the slow train.

From the Salesmen

"Hi Greg,

I’m looking in to it for you. As soon as I confirm I will get back to you. I can assure you that we have ordered a granite as per our contract together, I have a feeling that jeep have have mistakenly put the wrong colour code in and that physically the car is actually Granite

Kind Regards, "

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Yeah, sure. More likely, Waitara ordered the correct colour and Jeep Aus processed incorrectly as happened to Alan twice.
Or Waitara screwed up and ordered Red, but the least likely is that Jeep US have recorded the wrong colour that they actually painted the car.

So they are confirming that the VIN is accurate and your allocated car?

I have not spoken to them this morning its now 1.09pm.

I will not ring them again. Its up to them now.

What you are reading from the salesman is all I have from them right now.
It would appear that the salesman is saying that the GC is actually a granite and that the docs are wrong........BUT I'm not instilled with confidence in anything Jeep have to say.

By the way Jeep USA did hand over to Jeep Intnl; which as you say is Jeep Aust.

I also contacted jeep USA when I was having problems at delivery. While the USA did flick it back to Aus, I think They did put the wind up Melbourne and things started to move. I cc'd USA into all email corro from them on.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

My guess to what occurred with this colour mismatch is that when the dealer placed the order, Jeep Australia looked at the cars they had in their "stock order" and found 1 matching your requirements, bar the colour. What is supposed to occur is that Jeep Australia are supposed to modify that colour on their order to that of the dealer's order, but most likely failed to do so. The car was then built as per the original order.
In my case, the first car I ordered the dealer selected "standard" interior, and therefore the wrong colour interior was fitted.
The 2nd car incurred the same situation which I am guessing occurred with yours. When trying to get the second car, the dealer contacted Jeep Australia, found a same spec'd car, in the batch, but with different upholstery. When the dealer asked if it could be changed, the response from Jeep Australia was "yes". However, the dealer thought that "yes" meant it WOULD be changed, and Jeep Australia did nothing about it.
When you get 2 smart teams working together, you get great service. When you get 2 idiot teams working together, the end result is chaos. Welcome to Jeep Chaos Australia.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The thing that really 'urks' me is the lack of communication from the dealership, bloody deplorable.
Does it take all day to check a VON and a VIN when customers and forum users can have the info in no time at all?????

Get my deposit back and go buy a cheap Nissan dual cab and a get a jetski for the kids with my $60000 cash

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I was stupefied by the amount of dealers that didn’t call or email me back when I was trying to arrange sales for 24 cars.
Even with over $1,500,000 worth of cars to try and get, most dealers were completely slack. Only two acted quickly, one average, and the rest took over a month or not at all.

Buy a Suzuki Mighty Boy and be done with it.
