New VON

Well I have been given a new VON and an apology by email without an actual explanation of what has transpired. The promise of a phone call to fully explain tomorrow, the option I believe to dump the aftermarket sat nav and also the option to cancel the contract and get the deposit back.

I have put in a request to Milous to re-visit the VON Multi VIN Summary Report.

Delivery advised sometime in May.

I appreciate all the advice and help given.

Milous was quick as a flash and it appears this VON is connected to a BLACK JGC not a GRANITE.........

Ahhh touché on the username gags.

It's hard to remain calm in these situations, admittedly my jeep experiences pale in comparison to the circus act you seem to have been drawn into.

I guess to most dealers/service people/customer service reps our jeeps are simply another box to fill on there time sheets for the day where as to us they are often times the largest purchase we will make aside from a home, the vehicle we're trusting to transport our loved ones in safely and more often that not I imagine the way we get ourselves to and from jobs that earn us money that we would enjoy spending at jeep much more if it didn't often lead us to frustration and disappointment.

Shame on you jeep aus, I guess it's lucky we have such a great group of owners on here to share our experiences both good so we can jump on the band wagon and bad so we can avoid.

Stay fly dude.. Couldn't help one more name pun

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Think of all those that don't come on hear and get a build sheet, so the problem doesn't get shown until the car arrives. Extra couple of months waisted.

I brought a........ GFY Jeep Aus!

I can't even imagine the feeling of turning up to a car that i had waited months for and finding it was the wrong colour or spec and no doubt the dealer wouldn't realize or bother to call if they did.

It's a pity we can't just import these great vehicles ourselves and bypass the whole shambles that is jeeps dealer network.

Re: Hi TV Sat Nav from Suttons

Do the dealers point to the sat nav install as the culprit when presenting to the dealer with any of the problems experienced by others. ie: HVAC, Camera, Instrument Panel, Quadralift, etc.

Is the I Go Primo running well on the jeep system? The short video on youtube is not detailed enough.

Apparently when they install the sat nav, they can install a reverse camera at the same time. Whilst the Dealer has promoted the install of the sat nav from Hi TV and they have written on the contract " aftermarket sat nav will be supplied with a 3 year warranty" the salesman is recommending I wait and have the jeep camera installed. He has guarenteed that a camera will be set aside for my Laredo and that I will get the Trail Rated Badge as advertised. He said he hasn't seen an aftermarket camera as good as the jeep one.???

The owner of HiTV said the sat nav installer can do a camera at the same time, so I would be inclined to go in that direction given the problems with Jeeps cameras and thats if you can hold of one. Some folk are waiting 12 months...Crazy.

Talking about crazy....when they do the sat nav they go into the head unit and I believe solder in a ribbon and do some other stuff.

Dealers at Northern Beaches, Waitara all the Suttons Dealers promoting the install pre-delivery and then a big dealer in Melbourne was giving away free aftermarket sat nav (Hi TV ). Dealer told me when I rang same thing Suttons told me Jeep Australia are warranting the install. They are covering it. Dealer in Melbourne said they were not taking orders on Laredo's presently as they had 136 sat nav units on order and lots of angry Laredo owners still waiting for the 'upgrade.'

I'm thinking about cancelling the sat nav for the Laredo in case it gives me grief with Jeep Dealers, given this seems to be a 'beta' vehicle requiring frequent visits to the 'Dr'.

Somebody please tell me they have a working Laredo with the Hi TV Sat Nav and all other systems are working faultlessly and you could not be happier. Please!
I've got a MudMap M7 suction cupped to the window just above the dash. It gives both on and off-road sat-nav. Power is from the outlet in the cubby. I couldn't see the point in getting an expensive in dash unit that may be iffy anyway.
