Benno I just looked at the original build sheet.

There is no BNKS listed.

It does list ORAII and goes on to list skid plates etc individually with codes but I can not see BNK or BNKS

It lists QuadradriveII and then lists the ELSD with a code also.

So why BNK/S not listed as part of a break down.

Just called a dealer in Victoria..he said Up Hill Ascent is part of the ORAII but does not know why its not listed?

Speed Control

Speed Control NHMS but this is not selec-speed control hill ascent like listed on the US site you referenced

Stuffed if I know

The Canadians Get BNK

Looks like NHMS is cruise control for Australia in the Laredo NH1 and others for limited and above is Adaptive Cruise Control...

I still do not see the up hill ascent code on the build sheet for Australian Laredo ordered with ORAII...

I am currently discussing my situation with two other dealers as mine seems unable to contact me and when he does he has no useful information.

If they'd only have the decency to communicate with the customers who have already signed and not continually be told "Oh he's with a customer, I'll get him to call you back" yeah right!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

If you've been discussing your order change with Milous, then maybe he can tell you if the diesels are now getting selec-speed/hill ascent control? Otherwise based on what I've read to date, only the hemi with ORAII gets it.

Yeah Mate,

will do as you advise.

Little more info......Australian Jeep Grand Cherokees Buyers Guide. (The little book)

Selec-Speed/Hill Ascent- Packaged with Off Road Adventure Group II AND 5.7 V8 ( 4x4 models only ) P for package under Laredo.

in another section of same booklet.

OFF ROAD AVENTURE GROUP II
Includes skid plates for fuel tank, transfer case, front suspension and underbody; Quadra-Drive II (if 5.7L V8 equipped); requires 5.7L V8 0r 3.0L V6 Diesel. etc etc etc.....

This booklet led me to believe the 3.OL V6 Diesel to be equipped with Hill Ascent if selected with the afore-mentioned package.

I will consult with Milous.

Thanks

Boxheadmr is on a distinguished road
I would think it might take a day or two for them to change the order with Jeep USA if thay is what they are doing.
It appears they are working on it from what you have said and probally dont want to come back with anymore promises until they are 100% certain.
If they have specifically given you the option to cancel the contract then sure talk with another dealer however if they have not I would not be signing anything with any other dealer as they still have 60days after the delivery date on your contract to deliver the right car to you. (As outlined on your contract of sale, correct colour etc)

typing with fat fingers on a little keypad on my phone

I hear ya BUT when the salesman emails makes an apology which sounded sincere and promises to ring to bring you up to date with what has transpired then dose not it is just another failure in customer relations and frankly I'm sick of this crap.

I would not sign another contract with Jeep until I get the truth the whole truth etc etc.
Dealer in Melbourne is looking at HVAC issues/HiTV and Suttons claiming they will still honour jeep warranty if issues with head unit. Is ascertaining if indeed the Hill ascent is there cause he believes it is. A number of investigative searches for him to do and then he will come back to me tomorrow.
I think it will be difficult to get the same deal elsewhere as far as price goes and this is why I'm perservering, despite the known issues. It is my hope that they might get it sorted by the 4th or 5th generation.

I did read an article which said Jeep used to produce a model put it out there and forget about it for the next 4-5 years. But now with the 3rd Gen WK they are continually upgrading and fine tuning it so one would hope that issues would be resolved.

Having said all that I take everything I'm told now with a grain of salt until it is proved to be true....to much BS and inaction comming from Jeep and many of their dealers.

I think you need to remind them that you too are a customer, and that if he believes that he doesnt need to contact you or keep in contact that you will no longer be his customer.

"Packaged with ORII and 5.7L" are the keywords.

The confusion lies with the way the packages are set up - "OFF ROAD AVENTURE GROUP II" for example can contain different features for different trim lines or powertrains, yet the package has the same name. This is true of most packages.

Thankyou Milous.

So the Laredo with ORII in the diesel V6 is there. Thankyou for putting that to bed.

No hill ascent in CRD

Hold the fort........

from Milous.

"Oops... ok, Selec-Speed/Hill Ascent are NOT available with the CRD, only with the Hemi.

This is true in the U.S. as well. A lot of pre-production CRD models WERE built with this feature (BNK) but never made it to final production. I suspect they were having some sort of issues.

I replied to your post in that packages with the same name (like OFF ROAD AVENTURE GROUP II) can contain different content for different vehicle models or powertrains.

I will have to check and see if I see it on the list for 2015."

So the Australian Jeep Grand Cherokee buyers guide is WRONG and we do not get this feature. Jeep Bleep Bleep!

Probably be another function that gives grief.

Pretty soon Grand Cherokees will have no UConnect system at this rate.

Anything else the dealers/documents are saying we get and we dont.???

What a fiasco, its there in writing for Christ sake.

I'm not ringing them, because they dont ring me. So emails is what I send and few responses and none on a timely basis.

The dealers do not know the product and Jeep Australia are advertising falsely that it is available. Jeep USA are no better as Jeep Aust do there bidding.

This vehicle is not as advertised and the pile of shyte just gets bigger.

The most awarded SUV of all time seems to be 'drawing a very long bow' and what Milous has just stated about the hill ascent further adds credence to my statement that this is a beta vehicle and expect many visits to the Dr.

My wife is still keen to go the Jeep because I told her its the best diesel with the best fuel economy out there.

Personally with what has transpired over the past 4 months I am ready to walk away.
