Thanks mate, have some real info, then talk to me.
Until they provide you with a VIN, that can be officially confirmed by that Jeep US link I gave you, it is meaningless info that carries no weight.

They are right, Jeep customer service are in no way involved in the order system. They are not privy to this info.

It was one of the sales people at the dealership who pointed me to the Jeep garage to obtain the information that they did not have.

Further, it was the salesman who told me he was contacted by Jeep customer care and he came away more confused than prior to the call.

It was either customer care or the salesman who stated all vehicles ordered are automatically black unless there is a requested colour change. Information
systems useless if it can't be confirmed.

The debacle with the Hi TV sat navigation is Classic example of the left hand not knowing what the other is doing.

When I was chasing the e number the same dealer asked me if I was going to check on the Jeep forum.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Look at the bright side. In a few years we wont be ordering our Jeeps through that disjointed Jeep Australia.
We will be ordering online, directly from the factory.
Jeep Australia's role will be to supply spare parts, and appoint service agents.
Even that will be a major challenge for them.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Tonight I have a message from Milous who has a friend in the factory and his sheet shows the same as what Milous has pre-release not built yet.
Dealer is sure and certain it was built in February......

Thankyou Milous

Thing with the HiTV sat Nav I was asked by three different people not to mention it on the forums at this stage (going back some time) manufacturer and Jeep delaers. Now we know why.

Laredo owners can have sat nav on the Uconnect 8.4 screen BUT i'd be waiting till after the warranty expires so there is no duck shyte shovelling to be dealt with.

Blows my mind that a $55000 luxury suv doesnt have sat nav but Granny's $18000 grocery getter has it. And hers actually works as advertised.

Still waiting to see how this order progress'

Grannys $18,000 grocery getter can't shift 2,300kg quickly, attach another 3.5 ton and keep moving, go off road into some serious stuff though can it.
If it could you would have got one of those, we all would have.

The same could be said about the sound system when comments about that arise?

The thing with the navigation is that plenty of suppliers can get the whole package right for not that much money. The evidence is on the shelf at Dick Smith where $200 buys you a great navi. It's not like the $18k buzzbox has had significant expenditure made on the guidance system.

Amortised across the builds, these tech inclusions cost peanuts.

Cheers,
Steve

I dont believe so at 6' 1" the driving position is far to cramped, there is no full cut bumper bull bar for her model which will take a winch and I cant fit all my off road camping gear in the boot, just the groceries she bought last Friday. Plus I cant get a rated tow bar for her vehicle.....the list goes on.

My key point I think Snuke was that her sat nav actually works as advertised. There is a lot on the JGC that does not.

By the way Snuke, I still have a current order for one, Laredo that is with all the off road stuff in GRANITE and crossing my fingers and everything else for good luck.

I'm one of those prospective owners that believes the HVAC system (all systems) should work as advertised/intended, so I think its outrageous that some folks are 'happy' to just wind down the window when it does not work properly, simply because they still have a 'glow on'.

Must contact the dealer and give him the update from yesterday....he wanted to know.

Barboots, agree 100%

Cheers

The Limited (and upwards) nav unit is pretty reasonable Rocksfly. Deducting the cost of the HiTV system, what would be your cost to go up a model and keep that side of things OEM? Obviously you get some other goodies as well ;-)

Personally, if you did go aftermarket I wouldn't let warranty implications trouble you too much. Whilst they might try it on, the dealer can't reject a claim where your Uconnect failed... unless the HiTV has output a destructive signal or some such thing. This is highly unlikely.

Cheers,
Steve

G'Day Steve,

I am buying out of state. Sydney/Vic offer better deals. Only two dealers in Tas and they cant get close to mainland dealers prices as they are doing volume and get $ throwen at them for volume. Tas dealers dont have that luxury. You would be surprised just how many folk buy vehicles from the mainland with a permit and drive/ship them down here and register in state.

As to buying a limited with all the off road packages I have with the Laredo, is topping the budget. I have Uneek Bull Bar and winch to get fitted along with roof racks and roll out awning, possible skid rails or side steps, undecided.

I hear what you are saying with respect to the Limited, though I am hearing mixed reports on the GC Limited and above Sat Nav and it certainly does not perform as advertised for many, if what I read on multiple forums is correct and with a premium price 'pretty reasonable' might not cut it for some. Couple that together with the reversing camera issues for many and multiple flashes of the UConnect system that does not fix things...etc etc.

I love the look, the feel, the way it drives all of that BUT we have not gotten off to a very good start.

Jeep Aust Customer Care stated quite clearly yesterday that the HiTV Sat Nav would void the warranty because they go into the head unit.

So I think I need to just get the vehicle (in the right colour) and drive it, after sometime all things considered I may then look at the sat nav.

Cheers,

Oh... they open up the Uconnect module to fit a HiTV? I haven't looked at exactly what it offers, I was of the impression it was plug and play.

Seriously, no manufacturer's warranty would extend to that kind of installation, and I'd have laughed myself into asphyxiation if someone suggested they would. Deep down, did you believe that for even a microsecond?

Cheers,
Steve
