Played both now.
The new one sounds a little more "truckish"
Or is it just me!

We Mite have stirred the Yanks a little in the Diesel thread

I don't understand either. But I think it is a minority that think you need a 3t truck to tow with. Or a small diesel is no good.

They have their place.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Have driven the GC V8 and absolutely love it , great power , smooth and very quite , took a Toyota Prado diesel for a test drive today and was not impressed, lots of lag. very noisy, and the seat were hard and suspension was not as smooth as the Grand ,just didn't do it for me .
From a fuel cost point, the V8 will end up costing me around $ 2000 extra in fuel based on 25k per year. for me its worth the pleasure to have the grunt.

Driving the V8, smiling all the way.

Listening to that, it sure does, according to build sheet, premium insulation group, lets hope it's premium inside the cab, and did notice the color, silver, everyone wants silver!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The RRP of the overland is $69950 and this price INCLUDES LCT.
The diesel sound is louder on the video than in real life, I was suprised how well the mic picked it up. In the cabin it is not really noticable when moving, it is very quiet.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

well I went and had a seat in an Audi Q5, Q7, and an A5 Sportback.

Being 6ft9in tall and 180kgs, they were all not as comfy as the JGC. Still having a look around but it looks like I won't be able to find a better car with the same featureset as the overland I have on order.

What I'm thinking of doing is giving my trade-in vehicle now, and then driving another car in the meantime while I'm waiting for my JGC.

Now a few questions I have. If my JGC is going to be built in August, then will it be a 2012 model?? Will it have the 6spd auto? Should I get a new contract written up which says that it will be 6spd?

Also what colours are available? I am quite keen on the Deep Cherry Red, reckon it looks the bomb. I had a White Gold (actually Blackberry but then changed due to unavailability) 2011 JGC on order. Being an Aug build, (and like Oct/Nov Delivery), will it be a 2012 and have 2012 colours etc? I can probably also specify that I want the New Saddle interior and not the black.

lots of options, and only 1 brain to think about 'em :S

If it is ordered as a 2011 it will be built 2011 they can build both years at the same time.

You would most likely need a new contract to get the 2012 but will most likely cost another 4-5k!!!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Just a quick note regarding MOPAR slush matts on Ebay, I bought these as my dealer told me they were not available as a part in OZ yet, you can see them here:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....#ht_1846wt_986

Passenger, rear and cargo are perfect fits. Driver matt fits without trimming but only one floor clip fits. Sits nicely though.

Turned up about 9 days after ordering.
