Hi Tahlee,

Congrats on your purchase. As others have suggested, your expected delivery date may be a tad 'ambitious'.

Mine was ordered 14 Jan and is currently sitting on the wharf at Curtis Bay, Baltimore awaiting shipment. As are the vehicles ordered by Webby1970 and Rocksfly. (que the Ottis Redding song)

"Sittin' in the morning sun
I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch them roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia Detroit
Headed for the Curtis Bay
Cuz I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothing's gonna come my way......"

***************************
Clearly too much time on my hands now.

My prediction for Webby1970, Rocksfly and myself:

The car carrier Talisman is due in Baltimore on the 22 April, leaving on the 24th heading for Australia via for Savana, Manzanillo and Auckland. Due Brisbane on the 22nd May then on to Port Kembla on the 24th.

That will make it just short of 5 months from ordered to delivered for me.

So long story short Tahlee, don't be too disappointed if the dealer doesn't deliver....

Hi Gr8Ness

Bugger ...... do you want to lend me yours for a few months then ...
I promise to do a full test of suspension and other capabilities for you ... completely free of charge.

Seriously ... lease will finish on 11 July.. I have a couple of MX5's but they certainly aren't up to doing the Big Trip (not in comfort anyway).

I am going to have a stiff drink, and a good lie down ...

Regards

Rob

G'day Benn0

Thanks for the link .... I thought the MaxAir III was a bit pricey .... thanks for blowing that theory out of the water.

That colour combination you chose is certainly stunning/classy ..... and I'm sure worth the wait.

Might call in and see you when I'm heading up to Taylors Beach to see the kids ... don't put the kettle on just yet though.

Regards

Rob

Rob, If only I still lived in Melbourne. I would be only too happy to lend you my car

I'm running around in a 2003 Mazda 2 that I have owned since new. But that is all it is good for, running around town.

A "stiff drink and a lie down" hmmm, splendid idea.

Normal Lead time is about 5 months, however there will be a change over from MY14 to MY15 that will delay things. Orders for MY14 finish today, with MY15 ordering opening June 9.

I have seen the Uneek on Numb Thumbs WK last week http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...52e.jpghttp://... very tough looking

I still have a bit of research to do ... TOH like the polished look so ECB is on the list to see.

I will need to see where I can mount the compressor (I'm thinking AirMax III) .... any tips on under bonnet mounts?

Regards

Rob
I'd be interested to see how you get on with the compressor. Air Max III is a Nike shoe but of course you mean MaxAirIII. The MaxAir is rated at 72 lpm the same as my TJM compressor. My guess is they both come out of the same factory in China. It does the job but only just. It is quite slow. Anyway there is no way you'll get anything bigger than a cigarette packet under the bonnet. Possible compressor locations are in the luggage area or externally in the cavity under the spare wheel.

Any ideas on what's the 15 upgrade has got that is different?

Ohh ... AirMax MaxAir ... I think that stiff drink has had its way with me .... Perhaps I look at just putting the pump in the back ... sounds easier

Regards

Re: WK2 DownUnder

No real changes for the MY15, there was talk of a foot operated tailgate release.....

Re: WK2 DownUnder

All current models have a "Power Liftgate" (except Laredo).

Seated in the driver's position, while parked with brake on, can't the driver use the Key Fob to operate the Lift Gate?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

You can operate the lift gate from the overhead console.

Thanks SNUKE, yes I thought it would be something like that.

Talk of a "Foot Operated" Tail-Gate release sounded archaic to me.
