Re: WK2 DownUnder

I saw an overland parked down at semaphore today, I couldn't help myself and took a peak, the misses was so embarrassed. Anyway, first time I saw the inferno red in person and wow what a great color. To bad there not releasing those anymore

I don't understand either. But I think it is a minority that think you need a 3t truck to tow with. Or a small diesel is no good.

They have their place.
I dont have either and Petrol would be just fine thanks.

Also new carbon tax will see petrol exempt but diesel will pay tax (sorry carbon price)...

Where is my car Jeep Australia?!?

Haha, you're probably doing better than me, I've been told Aug build and November 30th delivery date :S

Few updates from my dealer.

A few diesel overlands have come in for customers (already delivered),

My Hemi overland will be built in August, At this stage they project delivery around late November, give or take a few weeks.

Dealer is happy to take custody of my trade-in now (2008 HSV Grange) and hold that money as part of the deposit. I will be bringing one of my parents cars ('04 BMW 745i, slumming it, I know :P) over from Perth for use in the meantime.

Dealer has confirmed it will definitely be a 2012 model. I wanted the White Gold colour, which apparently won't be a problem. Dealer also mentioned he will try his best for the New Saddle Interior colour, either way White Gold with Black interior would be as nice anyway. New Saddle is just a bit more unique, thats all.

Anyone know what wood colour I'd be getting? Wasn't it sicilian elm because of availability, wonder if that'll change for 2012 models.

Dealer will honour the same price he gave me on my 2011 (around the $72k mark), keeping my trade-in price at ~$30k.

As much as I don't want to wait, doesn't look like I have much choice. What y'all reckon?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

received these emails today

Good News & Bad News. Please refer to the forwarded message.

Good news is, that you're in the queue. Bad news is, there are others still ahead of you. So sorry about the wait. You've selected a great car (worldwide), we just need to get yours in your driveway. As it is, it doesn't look like your Overland will be here by the 30th and for that I apologize. I'll be sure to update you when I hear more.

Forwarded:

Unfortunately these are becoming very problematic cars. We are aware that customers have been waiting for quite some time now, but do to the minimal stock we are being allocated we have to go with a first in first served basis. Due to this we have orders since January and February that have not been filled.

We have our fingers crossed that we should be receiving more than 2 (which is what we had been given to allocate over the past 3 months). With this it should hopefully relieve the pressure everyone is enduring due to the short supply on stock.

Please be patient.

Thank you

Re: WK2 DownUnder

How is it that they can already have built and delivered diesel GC's when they weren't even available when we placed our orders?? Couldn't they have been building extra Overlands on the assembly line to catch up on existing orders first?

Doesn't make sense to me??

EDIT: Sorry for the rant, as you can probably tell, i'm getting sick of waiting

I know what it feels like.
Last Thursday I was going to cancel my order and get something else.
That night 3am Milous sent me a message which changed all that.
Car is built.
I thought the tracking would show the production line stages.
But it stayed D1 for a month.

When was yours ordered?

My dealer keeps bragging they are a preferred Chrysler dealer.
Don't know if this is true or just sales talk.

Ordered 20? May and wanted crd, had to take what They said they could supply they gave me the vin so I have some faith at the moment, 3rd week July I hope, as I said if I could have had an overland, cause the 70thwith the Ql only $4000 less or thereabouts in it,was told all overlands sold and a long wait, but like most dealers take em on face value and hoping for the best
