GMWK2

Mate, that's crap in regards to the auto trans fluid. I assume that you have the W5A580 - 5 speed? All it needs is an ATF+4.

If it was the latest 7spd, then yes, the oil is a little harder to get, although not by much.

Yep - the 5 speed. Two dealers didn't have it and didn't know when they would get new supplies. The dealer I went with, despite me specifically asking when I booked, didn't have it on the day and had to get a drum sent over from another dealer.

I do have a vested interest in that I own a Jeep and would really like JA to improve both their customer service and parts availability. Don't you? I think a little bit of negative publicity might help motivate them to improve their S@#T service and support.

As for the guy with the website, I don't know him from a bar of soap. Frankly he seems mentally deficient given his behavior, however if it prompts Jeep Australia to actually start offering decent customer service and even dare I say it, comply with Federal consumer law than I'm happy to publicize this guys idiocy.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Fair enough comment.

JA however couldn't give a flying F%$ about us here on Jeep Garage unfortunately, in fact they often cite this forum as a source of misinformation, when of course the opposite is true. God forbid a consumer walks into a dealership knowing more about the product than the person selling it and indeed know what needs fixing before the service guys do!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

It really is sad that the dealers really have no clue and the importer has zero intent on providing adequate support to said dealers. I noticed someone here contacted Chrysler/Jeep/Daimler in the US directly about ongoing warranty and service issues that were outstanding. It seems like that got everything sorted out quicksmart.

I imagine Jeep Australia as the importer have some kind of minimum service standards they have to meet as stipulated by CJD(US) for their import license. I imagine pointing out Jeep Australia's significant shortcomings/illegalities to the CJD exec's in the US would get a fairly swift remediation.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well seems like I have no choice but to take a loan car and wait for the replacement parts to arrive.
Just got off the phone and they are telling me that the Quadra-Lift Suspension controller is matched to the on board computer and therefore can not just be taken from another vehicle!

Dont know enough about the system but surely something needs to reprogrammed some where along the line

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I wouldn't trust a dealer to perform an oil change without screwing it up...im not sure I'd want them trying to re-program the QL control module.... Seems weird that it would be matched to your vehicles onboard computer, makes repair insanely impractical.

Thinking the same thing!
So if it fails while off roading in the middle of no where you would be totally screwed.

Just had my first service 5300km/6 months.

They used engine oil flush and a mopar diesel fuel additive I was not a happy camper, they took those 2 items off the bill. Pointed out that both these items were not needed on a car that had done 5k and that the additives in the oil were enough to keep the engine clean if done within limits. Also pointed out that the book also points out not to use any additives !!

Apart from that all good.

QL sounds like something thats going to give a few problems in the years to come (particularly if the BCM fails after factory warranty). I hope this would be covered as per the statutory warranty if it fails after factory warranty.
