Re: WK2 DownUnder

Jeep Australia are very active on Facebook, so it might be worth asking there of any news.

red Laredo with quadra lift. Was told last Friday it would be August

Today I went to the dealer to "discuss" the problem. I've since received a telephone call that it will now never come. There is a silver GC with QL coming in in July but the GC to me looks best with bold colours so I've decided against it.

I've now decided not to get a new car at all and keep the Clubsport. To anyone who has an order with quadra lift that isn't an Overland, good luck

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Ordered a Mineral Grey Overland on 18/3/2011 and was told sometime in July but possibly late June.
That was after being told by another dealer that they could get me a Bright Silver Overland delivered in April....... guaranteed but when I went in to pay the deposit, it had suddenly disappeared and they couldn't get me one until July and I would have to pay full retail

Re: WK2 DownUnder

OzTJ Think the dealers will tell you anything to get you in the door.

The first dealer I saw kept me busy all Saturday morning.
They knew I was from Kalgoorlie 600km from Perth.
Left there at 1130 then found all the dealers close at 12 in Perth.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

36 to 40 days on the ship alone, plus dock loading unloading customs and road transport.
5 factory to dock
5 dock waiting for ship and loading
40 ship
1 unload
10 customs
2 jeeps yard
5 to dealer
68 days as a guesstimation
If they are built by 1st June
That's about 7th August

Milous we need you, if you can find when the next production run for Oz

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I am hoping we will see the new MY2012 models as we may just squeeze in to the first run. They are making rigth had cars for EU, so hopefully they will do a decent run.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Think only the UK is RHD the rest of the EU is LHD. Correct me I may be wrong.
South Africa, Japan, Korea RHD, not sure how big their market is.
Would hope ours are 2012 builds but would not hold my breath.

I posted these numbers in early April:

Laredo: 357
Limited: 412
Overland: 81

Total: 850 (~400 delivered so far, another 100 enroute, the rest awaiting shipment or scheduled for build).

Currently I show:

Laredo: 657
Limited: 680
Overland: 131

Total: 1468

As shown, not very many Overlands are heading to Aussie, not sure why. The RHD builds are mixed in with all of the other builds, they are not necessarily run in batches.

I show several Overlands being built last week, as recently as Friday 5/13 (w/QL).

Does anyone who has ordered have a VIN?

In addition to the UK: Ireland, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Malta and Cyprus are RHD. Enough details to make your eyes glaze over can be found on Wikipedia.

I have emailed my dealer for a VIN, do they usually get one when they place an order?

Can we confirm that the Blackberry colour will not be available? My dealer put it as first preference, and 2nd pref white gold. Also First preference of Black wood and 2nd pref sicilian elm, so I'm assuming I'll be getting the black wood? whats the deal with some overlands having the different trims?

I also specified in the contract that the vehicle has to come factory fitted with ACC, FCW and BLIS. Last time when I ordered a 2007 300C, they gave me a 2006 build (2007 compliance), and it didnt have the auto headlights (which was easily fixed by a mod :P) Don't want that to happen again.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I just talked to my dealer and my Limited will be into production this month with delivery for 20th of July. Said there was a VIN assigned to it, but there is a chance it could change as it has not actually been made yet.

A VON (Vehicle Order Number) is assigned when the order is submitted and approved by the factory. A VIN will follow in the weeks ahead.

Blackberry is out for the model year. The Black Olive Ash interior trim comes only with the Summit package.
