Re: WK2 DownUnder

So the insurer is Allianz. Yesterday they were "sourcing the vehicle"... today they are "communicating with dealers for quotes". I imagine the dealers are all falling over themselves to discount their rare floor stock, to supply a car to someone they'll never see for servicing.

Overall, it's well below the processing speed we expected for the $1189 paid for two drivers with clean licences, $300 excess, no hire car (I still had the Prado, then decided to sell it). Anyone who is happy to share what they have paid to cover an Overland CRD, by PM or in this thread, would be appreciated. I'll see what I can dredge up with a search...

Have a good Froidy noight.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hey Steve, sorry to hear about your car mate

I am paying $1278 for a Summit CRD, with Budget Direct - 2 drivers, extra windscreen cover and a $300 excess.
I have had 2 not at fault claims in the last 3 years that jumped the price up.

The name had me concerned. But after the first claim, I was really surprised how easy and straight forward the process was with them With the second claim I had had Paint Protection applied but unfortunatly I had not notified them, after them seeing the receipts they were happy to pay to get it re-applied once repairs had been done

As far as insurance companies go, I personally think they are pretty bloody good at least worth the time to get a quote from.

Hope you get a replacement soon, I am meeting with John Hughes himself tomorrow to view a replacement for my Summit FINGERS CROSSED we both will have new cars soon

$775 for the Overland CRD including windscreen/Pano with AAMI. Excess however of $1200.

Two drivers, no claim in the last 15 years.

Edited to fix transposed figures.

See the insurance thread - Insurance Rip Off
But that is ultimately pointless except for some ideas. It varies so much person to person suburb to suburb. You will see a few opposites in the Insurance thread.

Allianz are supposed to be decent.
As per my comments in that thread, I plan to switch to GIO Platinum just before the car is 12 months old so I get lifetime new car replacement.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Snuke is correct. Comparing insurance quotes is irrelevant.
All companies vary the prices according to postcodes. To test, get online, put in all the details, then requote with a different postcode. Watch the major fluctuations.
Quotes can only be compared when comparing the same values. i.e. location, driver age/record, same vehicle.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I wouldn't go as far as irrelevant. It requires a sample pool to average, then an appreciation that the result will be a guide at best.

Thanks though...

Bullshit Rob, you cannot. It may be possible, it may even be easy, but you can't do it, because there is no fun in that.
