Re: WK2 DownUnder

I found that Yampi Way is the street name in Port Kembala just south of Sydney where the car will be unloaded.

Yeah I saw that Jeep Oz was the selling dealer, I think I called them enough to release a car that was not allocated to shut me up. There may be a Jeep Exec who has been told their car is still 6 months away as it has been allocated to me.

I bet we will see more people come here and complain that the delivery has blown out on their orders by many months. Jeep should stop the advertising blitz if they cannot supply the cars for another 12 months. This will only cause their brand harm, as people will not wait a year for a new car, unless it is a Ferrari. I just wonder how long my car would have taken if I sat quietly and waited.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I will keep an eye out for any ships leaving for Sydney or Melbourne.
It can be hard to track, Jeeps are loaded at Baltimore then the ship can go to Jacksonville or Saxon the leave for OS via Panama. This is for the east coast.
West coast they can do the same run in the US then leave via Europe or middle east,
Suez, West Australia. Or go via South Africa. Vessel tracking only gives the next port. They use to give way-points, a list of ports it was going to stop at for the next X months. Suppose that makes it to easy for pirates.

So how long is too long to enable you to cancel an order/contract?

Oops, guess I ain't real good at detective work, Port Kembla is the distribution centre... Mine took one month and one day from being loaded at Curtis Bay to being unloaded at Port Kembla.... But somehow after that it mysteriously took another 4 months to get aust compliance... god knows what happened.

that does not sound right.
They only clear customs. no need for Australian Compliance that gets done when they apply for import licence.
Then it should go to the dealer get prepped and registration this is when it is inspected and checked for ADR which is a PC look-up process. Dealer fitted accessories are checked for ADR.

Was yours the first Diesel?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

You can cancel a contract in NSW for a car if it is more than 30 days after the ETA date on the contract. Mine is 30 July, so I could, but I do not think Jeep would have any problem filling my order and I want the car.
I was told that the 23/8 for the ship to dock, 2 weeks for Jeep and customs and that the car should be in my hands mid September.

My problem is no one has ever given me an ETA delivery date.....and I still can't get one from Chrysler or the dealer. Pathetic!

Yep, all they gotta do is stick a label on the the passenger side "B" pillar, Mine had some reported damage to a door trim but surely it couldn't have taken 4 months to fix.... Who knows what goes on, worrying isn't. Mines a limited hemi.... Arrived Feb, complied June, delivered 6th july....

I agree, but all I can say is be persistant.
When and what did you order ?
Have you spoken to customer service in Jeep oz ?
What ETA were you promised ?

Not knowing is the hardest part, but if you really want the car then being the squeeky wheel seems to work.

Enforcer I ordered a Stone White (thought that would be safest after Tsunami paint problems) CRD Overland with Offroad pack on 7 May.
I have rang them twice but without a onsignement number they are not interested.
There is the catch I have never been given an ETA!

I really fear there is no order in the system but from what I am hearing that doesn't mean much either.

Persistant and wait. To complicate matters I am transferring to the NT in October and my order is through a NSW dealer! MMMmmm who would have thought buying a new car could be so messy!

Keep calling jeep Oz. write down the name of the person you speak to.
And the time and date. Make them promise to call you back that day.
If they don't call them with the name and time you last called.
Then ask them to escalate it and speak to their supervisor. Then ask for complaints.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

It was not until I delt with a Manager in melbourne did things happen quickly.
I ordered my car a few days after you, however I was told the Mineral Gray CRD overland would be October, but now pushed out to Dec or Jan. The contract will have a estimated deliver date, or the contract will not be enforcable, due to a time limit being required. Check the contract of sale you signed at the dealers.

From what I have been told the CRD orders are now pushing out to May 2012, so I would not expect you to get a car this year, unless you put the pressure on them. I called every week to customer service for 5 weeks and eventually got escallated to management.
