Re: WK2 DownUnder

I went to a nexen roadian hp, 295/45r20. Great tire i couldnt be happier for what i need them for, highway, snow, sand, gravel roads i cant fault them. They do make a 265/50r20 and alot cheaper than the kuhmo. Im sure lots will chime in with there thoughts just go with whats in your budget.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I got 40k out of the sumo's, 20k
out of coopers,
50k out of the first set of toyos,
15k out of cheep brand all i could get after running over a angle iron slashing 2 tyres (toyos) and a set of Maxxis !000km bad alignment scuffed them in one trip north.
Got 50k on my 2nd set of toyos, still got plenty on them.
178000km on the Jeep now mostly highway and gravel roads (Warburton regularly)

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well after four years, one month and 82000km the white Overland CRD is up for replacement. I cannot stump up the NZ$47,000 to change up to another Overland, so have settled for this Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Free Leather 2015 | Trade Me It will cost $20k and I will keep my 20x9.5 wheels with 285/50 Cooper tyres. They will supply and fit the tow bar. I will then have the task of running all the caravan related wiring and possibly beefing up the rear suspension to help cope with the 300kg plus ball weight of the van - Probably opt for air bags.

Cheers Chris

I reckon your CRD had three times that many km's left in it. I've only just finished modifying my MY12 WK2 so now I can really start enjoying it. No wait, the fog lights still need upgrading to driving lights. I'll probably get rid of it when the upholstery starts falling apart.

Things can only improve but then I use Jeep service as little as possible. As I see it, I bought a great car at a great price. Why would I want to pay more money to have some incompetent mechanic ruin it?

More interesting are the comments that point out all the holes is this deeply flawed article. Yet another journalist writing an article based on nothing they actually know about and find a few reports to act as confirmation bias.

The recent spate of anti-diesel articles following on from the VW scandal, all refer to the health implications of diesel particulates however I've yet to read one that mentions of DPF's. If they are talking about pre-DPF diesels then I tend to agree but I suspect most of the writers wouldn't know a DPF if they fell over one. I wouldn't have either before I bough the Jeep. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

BTW, if you had a VW, would you take it in for a recall? I'm presuming the cars will be detuned so as to meet emissions requirements? I don't know if I would. Also, if you wanted to buy a VW, you pay more or less for one that had been recalled? No answer required, just something to think about.
