WK2 DownUnder

Hmm - does not give me much to go on Snake. Camping, house, motel?

We rent a house at Boomerang Beach one street back from the beach. Suits us.

There are heaps of places if you are after a house. Try this site : http://www.pacificpalmsaccommodation.com.au. If you have heaps of money I can recommend a place called "Reef Break" which has its own pool but backs the primary school.

If we go up for a weekend we sometimes stay at one of the units in "Ocean Side". Basic, but some have beach views.

If you want more of a motel type I'd go for Pacific Palms Resort at Elizabeth Beach.

Camping is probably best at The Ruins. http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/...nd-picnic-area. It gets busy in the school holidays.

Camping at Sandbar is a bit too "rustic" for me.

A good drive is to head up to Mt Whoota. Fantastic views up and down the coast.

Best coffee is at Twelve by Twelve.

And go too the Reccy Club for dinner. Sitting out on the lawn having a meal and watching the sun set over the lake is hard to beat.

Hope this helps.

Guys don't break a AC condenser, Jeep AUS wanted $1100 for the part, got the repairer to use non-OEM for $380. I pretty sure Jeep doesn't manufacture AC condensers..

Ahhh Sandbar! That's where my first wk2 decided to go rear wheel drive in very soft sand, got dragged into a guide post (backwards of course) by the extraction experts, and barely made it to the car park. Tow truck from there. 3 weeks old, new years eve , one week into a 2 week holiday.
Just got back from 2 weeks at seal rocks boat beach looking across to Sandbar, replacement Jeep perfect. Happy days!

Pipe cracked in our 2012 at the condenser - not a stone. Replaced under warranty. And yes - very exxxxxy.
The vehicle had been over LOTS of rough road work in its life and was just back from a trip to Cape York when the a/c stopped working.
There have been a few reports though.
And good to see you finally appear to have found the a/c issue….how did you eventually diagnose??

Had my condenser replaced also while under warranty. Air con was playing up and was diagnosed as the evaporator. I asked are you sure as it was a big job to get to the evaporator, behind the dash. They said yes so they replaced the evaporator. Guess what? Within 48 hours, no aircon again. So they then replaced the condenser. Been good ever since.

I had my Evap, compressor and condenser replaced within the first year I had it under warranty. It was a massive 3 day job as the evap is behind the dash which was heartbreaking to see as a customer. It use to make a trombone sound on a hot day. Not to say the noise is gone, but it's more subtle and less obvious. Other than that, did not affect the cooling.

Chrysler loan a car throughout the time it was off the road.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I have also had the condenser replaced a month ago on my 2012 WK2. When searching here when a/c stopped, working I found mentions of cracking in the condenser LHS at pipe entry. Got under car and found a/c refrigerant all over skid plates in that area. Suggested this as likely fault when I took it in and that was it. Fortunately repair was covered under my extended warranty as I was 3 mths out of standard but only cost me for coolant under the terms of ext warranty, Approx $200. Service Mgr told me
lucky I had warranty as part was over $1000 and repair would have been approx $2000. Mind you took about a month to get part and get in for final repair!
So there would appear to be a bit of an issue with this fault. Not widespread but not uncommon either.

John, diagnosed eventually via the low pressure switch on the gas side of the system. My cost was $800, which is really good noting I had a bullbar to contend with to get the new part in and they completed a professional job in 2 days.
