Ah, I see why you didn't want to tell us, you rich bastard . Yes the extra 70Nm would be lovely. I know because I've got an extra 123Nm (supposedly) with the Bluespark for only a few hundred bucks . As I understand it, the WK2 platform is a variant of the Merc ML platform which Jeep inherited from their former owner so you haven't really left the fraternity. You have just gone to a much more refined version of the same thing. Pity about the piss tanks though. Let us know what the service quality is like. It has got to be better.

So much hate I see...

Good on you glennr, I'm sure you won't be putting any A/T rubber on the ML class to make it look "aggressive".

WK2 DownUnder

Back to dealer today. The air con has crapped itself - sounds like an asthmatic is dying in my dashboard and not cold - think it needs a regas. And I've got a creak in the front suspension....

Had its 80k service 2 weeks ago.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Silly question, anyone know when a recall tsb is put out for the followings:-

1) 2012 v6 engine replacement under warranty conditions
2) 2012 v6 engine cylinder head repairs/replacement

Does it mean if you are no longer in your warranty period, do Jeep still warrant these tsb for the life of the vehicle? Or ONLY within the factory warranty terms.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I would have thought that a TSB indicates the manufacturer has recognised the probability of a pre existing fault, and therefore the TSB would be covered outside of warranty.

I've only heard of a couple forum members have the compressor cracking, theirs was under warranty. I guess you are out?

If you are, id suggest checking parts out of the states and see what their worth. It may very well be worth sourcing it yourself and get a fridgy to do the job.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Go back a page, there is some discussion. Seems to be a common fault on the wk2....

If this was me I would be going down the 'Expected Usable Life' type clause as covered by Australian Consumer Laws.

I might just keep extending my extended warranty before it expires.
