Absolutely right. That being said, the software systems in the JGC do exceed my tolerance of what I would consider an excessive volume of bugs. I suffer less glitches with that bucket of crap known as Windows as what I've witnessed with my Jeep, it scares me that the safety and ACC systems I depend upon may be equally as poorly written.

I'm a bit the opposite. Apart from a few harmless idiosyncrasies, the Jeep has been fine even excellent. However, I was an early adopter of Windows 10... never again! We have three Win 10 machines, all doing different weirs things that I've given up trying to debug. Even my new pro-grade camera, it has such an enormous menu structure that it keeps tripping over itself in the confusion.

Couldn't find a link to the Aussie recall notice but it's the same as this. Even though you are out of warranty you are still entitled to the recall for free...
There is some discussion as to whether the external relay is a hack, however I think still best to have it done.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Do they reckon it is a different issue to what the recall fixes, or is their hack not up to scratch?

mine was done still had fuel pump issues. No signal getting to the relay.
By passed it a coulee of times. Nearly was going to install a switch and run it from a ignition feed. Did not do enough research to find a feed that was live while cranking the engine.

Shame the jeep engineers haven't done that research themselves. Does FCA at least acknowledge that there is still a problem and they are working on it?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I haven't had the fuel pump recall done yet. Mine is still working fine. With the poor quality of Jeep servicing, I think the old adage, "If it aint broke, don't fix it!" has merrit.

I'm with Bob on this one. Leave well enough alone. Zero confidence in this recall. No said issue for 140,000km, willing to push my luck on this one, especially considering that others still have issues even after the recall.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Noticed this. A recall for the recall.

Apparently the fix for the sunvisor didn't work and there is a recall so they can have another crack.
