Re: WK2 DownUnder

For those who are going to use their new diesel GC for towing, I can assure you that you will be very impressed. We have just had our first excursion with our 24' 2500kg caravan and the power delivery at low revs is a huge improvement over the 2008 Overland CRD and the longer wheel base combined with "Hydralift" suspension made the rig a very composed and stable combination on the road. The other real benefit is fuel use - over 140km returned 14lt / 100km compared to previous rig (17 - 19 lt / 100km. It felt quite happy in drive and never did I feel the need to manually shift the transmission as the current shift protocol is right on the button. Used the adaptive cruise for about 50% of the journey.

Hitched the van using hydralift - lowered the Jeep - backed under the hitch using the rear camera, then raised up to engage the ball in the hitch Brakes are brilliant, but the new electric / hydraulic power steering is very light and will take a little adjusting to.

Hi Andy,

Local Chrysler Dealership advised that a WDH should not be used in conjunction with the Hydralift air suspension. The rig sits perfectly level when hitched and is very composed on the road. Has numerous electronic wizardry to help in dire situations. ( We had a panic, brake - violent swerve manoeuvre to avoid a slow moving tractor that pulled out in front of us while travelling at 90kph and absolutely no dramas at all.) We have 210kg on the ball

Cheers Chris

Thanks for the feedback Chris, it's reassuring to those of us who have never previously considered a Jeep let alone the new CRD.

Many of us are itching to get into ours. The good news for those with toys on the Fidelio is that it's running ahead of schedule, now due Australia 1st call Brisbane on 19 August (this coming Friday) - see attached schedule.

"Vessel Tracker" is operated by a 3rd party organisation and most likely evolved from "vessel spotting" origins (like train / plane spotting).

Wallenius Wilhelmsen own and operate the Fidelio (and over 60 other vessels), their tracking facility on their site is 1st hand data. Here is the link to their schedule page, all you need to do is enter the vessel's name http://sagaweb.2wglobal.com/AppSchedules/vesselSearch.do;jsessionid=0z3hTLLf6gVzL41PZfWcphs 8gv66nbpJ1B4pmWT9HF4lWcz99zWv!-262142157

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I have some great news for us downunder owners.
I have managed to score a PDF version of our local user manual. All 326 pages or 16.5MB of it. It includes all the available motors.
Due to the size it can only be sent to owners who have large email acceptance policies.
I am going to contact Milous and ask him to host it up on his wk2jeep site for all to enjoy.
