You might be right but obviously they tell different stories to different people. I wish they would just tell the truth. Apparently they didn't order a car for me and I call that a failure!
so I dont want this to go cols and I note this is being read on other forums. Is anyone else having trouble
a. getting their order at the date sepcified
b. getting the specification they ordered or being asked to take a different specification
c. Which dealers?
I understand they do have more cars arrivng in August and Deserthucker you may be spot on. I wont take a car that doesnt exactly match my criteria. Maybe I should get a Rubicon Wrangler instead...
There's a BIG difference between a Wrangler and a Grand Cherokee. Completely different type's of vehicles. That's why i'll have both when the GC gets here. One for OFF road and one for ON
Its strange coz I got the call last Friday but nothing this week to confirm or cancel... wonder if something has disrupted the planned August delivery... what a farce.
Update on the Saddle trim change, was rejected today.
But the rep sent an email with a picture and wants us to reply to it confirming we want saddle.
We done this, he said it could take another couple of tries to get it approved.
WJ 2.7l crd sh!t it's self today.
Left me stranded out bush.
O rings on low pressure fuel pump not sealing bleeding back to the tank.
Had to jerry rig a primer to the filter to get it started then reconnect the fuel tank.
Lucky to have the second battery flattened the first trying to prime it.
Most likely will not start in the morning. Lucky the O ring shop is 5 minute walk away.
Want this new one ASAP.
I really don't understand what could be so hard. They are made OS so Jeep Australia would have at least 6 weeks notice that some more are on the way? The dealer avoids contact at all costs, and tried to slug me extra because of their lies/incompetence. This is my first Jeep and it is hard to imagine ever buying another!
Hey guys,
Well my jeep dealer gave me my VIN, confirmed car was built and waiting in holding lot today in Detroit. Mine is a 70th anniversary edition and I was told they were doing a run of these through may-June then going back to standard production after this.
I know it's prob still another 2 months off delivery but damn I'm excited to know it's on the way!
spoke to my dealer, apparently he has no updates on availability etc. He has put New Saddle in as a colour choice as well as Blackberry as a Exterior colour choice, but we'll just have to wait and see. he did mention there is no chance the car will have the black wood though.
Also apparently he has provided my details to Jeep/Chrysler for them to notify me of updates and send a few goodies (no source for this, just dealer).
Have no idea what its gonna be, but whatever, just want my car lawl
I also asked for some goodies - it only seems fair. I have been waiting whic isnt the worst its the lack of clarity. It looks like I have an E number for car leaving there beginning of July for 8th August delivery...
tbh I haven't been waiting that long, ordered may, est delivery is early aug.
I'm all for freebies tho
BTW, saw a JGC Bright Silver one driving in Canberra while I was at a restaurant. my friends were all like wtf, when I jumped up from the table and was staring out the window at a JGC. I was just like awww, I want my car lawl.
On a funny note, I told my friend I was buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and he's like WHAT? Cherokee Indian? cacked up laughing haha
Has anyone looked at the Jeep extended warranties ?
I would like to know the street price for an additional 2 years, as I plan to keep this one for 5 years.
I do not want a dealer warranty, only a factory one.
Just had a great chat with my dealer and he has confirmed that the CRD will be launched in mid July. He also confirmed that the saddle interior will NOT be available and that it was a mistake by Jeep to say it was. He has and email that confirms that black interior is the only choice we have. In the overland there is also no choice on the interior, the cherry wood and black leather is it. He also agrees that Jeep are not building our cars to order. Each dealer will receive an allocation and you get what they have. I am sure that Jeep will try to match orders with cars, but this may explain why we are not getting our VOR/VIN until the car is on the boat/in the dealers. I suggest that anyone with a car on order keep in contact with your dealer and ensure that you are top of their list when it comes to allocation. Another source told me that the allocation will remain for the rest of this year. Jeep Au also appear to have underestimated the demand for this car and have been caught short in the supply department. If anyone is looking at a 70th anniversary model, give Josh at SVM Jeep Mosman a call as he has some ready to deliver.

Well when I ordered mine it certainly wasn't an option. I don't know if things have changed recently, but i called several dealers and all told me the same thing at the time. ETA is about 6 weeks as it's in the holding yard now.
Enforcer I wasn't even aware they were making them at the moment. As I said, I was told QL was not available until the end of the year full stop. This was one of the reasons i decided to spend the extra $$ I would have spent on QL on the 70th anniversary model (although it was mainly to get rid of that ugly 'retiree woodgrain'!!)
The overland I tested had QL. What I was told is that Jeep did not order many (or any?) QL's on the low and mid spec models, as they did not thing it would be popular.
This was the same situation with the Overland's mostly ordered with the $3250 rear DVD system. Jeep had an epic fail on their initial order, as the 2 things the decided on were wrong.
I got told the QL wasn't available because a part required for it was made in a factory affected by the Japan disaster, similar to the story with many of the paint colors. However the test vehicles most dealers have arrived before the Japan tsunami happened.
I also read somewhere that all the parts they did have left would go into overlands, so if you wanted QL in another model you would actually be waiting until next year.
