Hey Jaysonf
First post - can I just say that your interior (posted June 30) looks SENSATIONAL!
Im still making my way through this (rather long) thread - do you know the details (colour/~cost/supplier) of the aftermarket leather?

Ive been lurking in Caravaning forum and just tripped over this one. Im amazed - on so many levels, but mainly, the incredible demand and lead times for this vehicle!!
Thanks to all

In the U.S. Jeep did away with upcharges on the paint awhile back. Blackberry and Inferno were the only colors they originally charged extra for.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Picked up my White Laredo TD in Melbourne on friday and drove it back to Vic/NSW border today. I did a fuel economy check and dash showed 8.1 lt per 100km. That was about 45mins of city stop/start driving and then 2 hours of highway cruising. I am very happy with that economy. Beautiful to drive but would appreciate a dash mat to reduce glare and reflection.

I think some of the dealers play on words here.
Saying it is a premium paint and then discounting it.
That's how it appears on my contract metallic extra (hand written) $750 then it is crossed out and written INCL (mineral Grey).

Anyway nice to see you keeping an eye on the Aussie larrikins!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well they had the pole greased up for me as I have $495 on my contract and no line through it. Not that I am unhappy as they have given me a fair price on a trade from my Ford. This saves me having to sell it privately and having to sort out paying the finance company out. I am hoping I can get them to throw in a towbar.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I asked the dealer yesterday what is Premium Paint and he said that is Jeeps way of saying Metallic.

I think that there was only 2 colours that were not metallic, stone white and one of the blacks?

At least it wasn't some sort of Paint protection rubbish. I'd rather use my own polishes rather than that stuff. Ever see some cars about 5 years old where it looks like the clear laquer is peeling? That's generally dealer applied paint protection.

So does that mean if you chose premium paint with Stone White it gets Metallasised!!????

In any case, like Enforcer, I was happy with this price, the Prado Kakadu is retailing circa $90k and the X5 +$100k, they're just not worth the money given the bells and whistles of the Overland (plus there seems to be an X5 on every street corner!).
These were both Laredo's

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I noticed on the find a used Jeep, they are selling 2nd hand GC's for more than they were new. Jeep Mosman has a Limited for $77,800. I mean really ?
This has 4000km on it, and they want $10k more than a new one.
HERE is a link to a "Mopar Edition" Laredo for over $60k
HERE is a link to a CRD Overland for $83,500, looks like price gouging to me. At least I know my car is worth $7k more than I am paying for it...lol

DVG biggest ripoff merchants.
I will never deal with them again.
They have tried to bye out all the Chrysler dealerships in WA.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I'm in the process of getting quotes for a Overland CRD with the off road adventure pack and the dealer just called to talk me out of it due to the fact if i cancel the order it now becomes harder to sell , He is happy to swap the wheels once the car arrives and supply bash plates later

How many of you guys ordered the off road adventure pack ??
