How long did it take for the dealer to give you a VIN for tracking and did Jeep give you confirmation of the Saddle or is that done thru the car dealer?

I ordered fairly early when the WK was released, not sure if the dealers new how to place a custom order. Ended up the state rep done the order and got the saddle trim. The rep supplied me the E number (VON) then Milous done the research and found my VIN.
Late Feb early March order got the VON around May.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well done to those whose delivery is imminent. It must be an exciting feeling after the long waits for many.

I had a conversation with Chrysler Jeep Australia yesterday in why they have been unable to allocate an "E" number for my order.

Evidently their allocation of Overlands for October production is full and it will have to slip back to November production.

So I am somewhat peeved as the dealer, even only a matter of hours before I spoke to Chrysler Jeep Australia, was still saying October production for November / December delivery.

They said they will see what they can do, however not holding my breath.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Swampy,
I would troll the carsales website and find a dealer with stock of close to what you want.
There should be a few spares after the recent deliveries. It is very evident that demand has outstripped supply and they are unable to meet the customers expectations. This is not uncommon for imported cars, as there are many Euro makers quoting 6+ month waits.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

The annoying thing is we know as soon as an order is put in the system an E number is generated.
I think Milous confirmed this.
Some thing fishy is still going on.

Thanks Enforcer

Unfortunately we want a Deep Cherry Red Overland and as it will be an MY12 production, there is none available in Australia (that I can find).

I know that if we relaxed our colour requirement, we could probably grab one. However we are not desperate, I just become a little peeved when we are told one thing and the reality is another.

I do not know but do suspect that it is not the dealer's fault, rather that it is Chrysler Jeep Australia not telling the dealers what is really going on.

The dealer even sent me his latest vehicles list from Chrysler Jeep Australia and mine is still listed as October production, but with no "Commission" or "E" number. Hence my call to Chrysler Jeep Australia who then avised that there is no E number beacause they have no Overland vehicles left for their October build Allocation.

Yes, I am of the same understanding. However if the October build Allocation for Overlands to Australia is full, maybe the November allocations havn't been opened as yet.

Possibly "E" numbers aren't given until the order is accepted by Chrysler Jeep in the U.S., but I am only guessing.

I note on the dealer report that I was sent yesterday (report just from my dealer) there are 3 other Overlands in the same boat, being that they also do not have their "E" numbers allocated.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Ahh,
Cause they are not sold orders,
They will be the ones the dealers hope will fit their orders.
More and more I am suspecting dealers are not placing orders but just hoping one of the production ones fit the bill.

Possibly

However I suspect that the dealers are placing the orders with Chrysler Jeep Australia, its just the latter who are up to the shenanigans.

At the end of the day, limited and conflicting information leads to people like us guessing.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Swampy, we have all been messed around with getting VIN/E numbers from the dealers.
I had to keep climbing the ranks of CDJ Oz to get my number and it was only after about 10 calls that I found my car would not be delivered until Feb on an order placed in May, due to my Mineral Grey colour choice. I was given the Silver as an available option that is being delivered tomorrow, but I do not know what would have happened if I was not so persistent.
I suggest you contact Alicia @ CDJ (03) 9238 2634 as she has been a great help in getting my issues sorted out. I am planning to send her some flowers next week as a thank you for getting me my Jeep this year.

Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease, as the persistent client gets the Jeep !!!
