There you go Swampy, that's cheap transport for a 5000km trek. It may be worth having a look the east coast market, my dealership is Suttons and Enforcer's is SVM Mosman, both Sydney dealers, they may have what you want without the agonising wait.

Customs, Compliance, Pre-Delivery Spruce and she's all yours!

Are you flying down to Perth to collect or are you at Fremantle now with binoculars watching the vessel discharge?

Glad you had more luck than me at SVM, when in syd for a week I checked them out for a test drive of a hemi they had, all good till I got there and they had sent it to a caravan show someplace... ok, "sorry bout that we'll call on monday when it comes back", gave them my details, told them what I wanted said they'll email a price and call on monday.... That was in March, still waiting for either.... think Paul was his name, Anyway ended up buying from my local dealer who have been great and as confused as I have been with supply etc...

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I have heard about some not so great experiences with them. SVM is also part of the Suttons group. They have 3 Jeep dealerships and what was siad earlier about having 40% of the NSW stock seems to be a common theme.
One of my staff took his caravaning parents to SVM Mosman and they did not get a great response from them. As they are a new dealer, I expect they are still ironing out the kinks. The sales guy that sold me my car is no longer there, so I think that staffing is still being sorted out.
As for the "Gift" for my long wait, I have not heard anything form anyone. I think Jeep will think the gift we receive is getting the car and paying full price for it. I guess we should just be thankful we are getting sort of what we ordered, almost in the time frame and that should be that.
The dealer now has all the paperwork and hopefully I will be told later today to collect my car tomorrow morning. The wife has a Fathers Day surprise that needs the car, so I just hope it is not ruined by not having it. I will keep you all posted.

Now that sound intriguing.

Remember if you do take delivery tomorrow, we are all expecting detailed photos, inside and out by the time we get to work on Monday morning.

If not you will be hunted down and whipped, but in an unpleasent way.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Just heard from the Dealer and they are currently fitting the Mopar HD towpack.
The car WILL be ready tomorrow morning. I have the Digital SLR ready for the pictures and if the weather is good, I will go out for some scenic night shots tomorrow night.

Yes, I think that you are right. One of the dealerships that i visited did hint at the same thing, saying that as they were the biggest Jeep Dealer in Perth, they get a better allocation of vehicles. Funny enough, another two dealers in Perth told me that they also were the biggest dealer in Perth.

Unfortunately, the former dealer was 1.5 hours from my home, was 3k more expensive then the deal I ended up with and were not interested in fitting an aftermarket accessory to the vehicle prior to delivery as it was too much trouble. I wanted the vehicle 100% ready to go for when my wife picked it up from the dealer as it will be her first new car. (She normally gets my hand-me-downs).

Anyway, we were always expecting Jan / Feb delivery however the recent frustration was only caused by the dealer advising an earlier delivery being pre Christmas, only to find that the reality of this is most unlikely.

What a pathetic lot we grown men are! Imagine what our wives and girlfriends would be saying if they read half of these posts
