Re: WK2 DownUnder

thanks enforcer. No matter how hard i tried, looks like i've just gotta play the waiting game. At least after me complaining they've given us something else to drive around in but a two door wrangler is nothing like an Overland

Thumbs up Re: WK2 DownUnder

Almost 2 weeks since I took delivery of my new Blackberry Pearl Laredo CRD with Quadralift and very happy with purchase. Thanks to all contributors who helped pass the time waiting for the car to arrive. I can report that the first tank of fuel averaged 8.5 lt/100km and included a few weekend getaways with many highway miles. On refilling the expected range was in excess of 999 km (does not read greater than this, although you can change to miles if you like).
The only complaints so far is the uconnect system keeps cutting short phone calls, not sure if it is a phone or uconnect issue and it has to go back to the dealers to have tint re- done on two windows.
I now only need find some time install side steps and other cosmetic bits bought from US whilst waiting for Jeep to arrive.
For those of you still waiting, it is all worth it.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

HI All,
Just got back from a 1700km round trip from Newcastle up through the Barringtons, through Booral and up to Forster in NSW towing a 2100kg caravan. I have to say the CRD is an amazing engine. Fuel economy (mixed about 500kms towing with 4wding and exploring) was avg 12.5l/100kms...unbelievable. By the way, I dont thing the guy towing that large Caravan with his V8 100series cruiser was very happy with me when I overtook him quite easily, caravan in tow, up hill....cannot recommed it highly enough.
Also a good majority of this was on corregated gravel roads, there is no evidence of any panels loosening or any rattles in the interior.
The dust seals are excellent with absolutely no dust inside the vehicle, even with the air con vent to open air instead of reticulation...

I will try to post some photos of the trip shortly
