Re: WK2 DownUnder

I think it's great seeing the next batch of WK2's hitting the streets and hopefully time will pass quickly for those still waiting. The worst part is the lag between the arrival of the vessel and the dealer delivery!

For someone who knew zip about Jeep's 3-4 months ago, I am very impressed. It seems to me this model is the model that will elevate Jeep to compete against the likes of BM, Merc etc. Chrysler will need to do is to hold its nerve, manage the brand with quality and they will sell heaps (not too many, don't want these to saturate the market like the X5)!

We had gale forced winds here in Brisbane yesterday and whilst I could see people clamoring for shelter and trees bending and leaves swirling, I could hear virtually nothing outside.

All you long time Jeep enthusiasts waiting for your Jeeps to arrive, you will not be disappointed!

PS....Belated but I just became a site supporter, these posts bantering back and forth have been a great help and I'm sure will continue to be down the track.

Good work Jeep Garage!

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Would not believe it today, in Cervantes 200km north of Perth, rolling slowly towards me a mineral grey CRD towing a tandem axle caravan. He had Bunbury plates on it.
Don't know if he is floating around on the forums. Have to check in on oz jeeps.

Hi Hiland,
I can't post PM's yet. I bought my accessories from Just for Jeeps. The chrome side steps cost $464USD. I had them shipped to a US Borderlinx freight forwarding address for $60 USD. My order included a few other items also which were packed together. Borderlinx then charged me $395 USD for freight to my door, this included GST as total cost was over $1000. You should be able to land the chrome side steps for around $800 ( black steps are minus $180).

Regards,
tomkou.

Love that Red Jeep.

The chrome and the red look as good as the chrome on the black.

The interior looks sensational.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

With the chrome side steps I had mine installed by the dealer and was only charged $990.00 installed and if I had have ordered them when I first signed up for the JGC I am sure that I could have got a better price, not sure for the little that you would save by ordering them from OS would be worth it might pay to ask the dealer for a price first.

Your dealer would also have factored in the additional whammy of LCT, this is why it's usually better to fit any "add on" after delivery.

Do you have any pics with your chrome steps on? I'm tossing up between the chrome and black.

Mopar Australia has a new website with Grand Cherokee accessories
Step Kit - Tubular Side - Chromed Aluminum Side Steps (82212129)
Price: AUD $850.00
(Excludes freight and fitment unless specified)

Price seem OK considering the freight cost if you buy it from USA
