Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hi All
Well after 2 months of research (March to April 2011), i settled on the WK2 Laredo V6 Petrol. I was told by DVG Maddington Jeep (West oz) that it would be about early August before it was delivered ( 3 months), then they would need a week to install the DVD and Hayman Reece system.

Well i am happy to say that i slipped in un announced to see how the delivery was going on the 5th August and....... There was my car sitting inside the Showroom with all bits done with he 2011 4x4 winner banner draped across the window!!

Had no problems with the sale and delivery and after 1500ks (most done by my wife! :P ), no probs with El'Grando either!

Price seem OK considering the freight cost if you buy it from USA
AUS$687 delivered kills the local MOPAR price.

Hmmmm. I wonder how long they would have kept it on the showroom floor before contacting you?

Time to get some photos up so that we can see the beast.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I got 3 jeeps of DVG in the past. Then woke-up I was getting ripped off with parts and service. from 600km away. Left the old JGC there for 3 weeks while away for an idler pulley to be replaced, to get back and find they had done diags and a quote. I left them with the car with instructions fix it if it is under 1k. quote was for $450. cost $170 for the quote.
By chance I called into Jeep in Wanneroo and got the same parts under half price, and diags done while I Waite. (airbag light)

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Well, this is a prime opportunity for those that live in the West.

Who do you use and recommend for Jeep service in WA?

Hey Jaysonf.....who in Brisbane have you trusted to service your machine?

Seems the choices are limited with Albion, Leo Muller and now Salters.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I always had good experiences with Sales guys at Wanneroo CJD.

I had a bad experience with DVG Melville, where we bought a 300C from them, they gave us a model a year older, (with new kms (19km odo)). But it still was a bummer that I didn't get Smartbeam, and had to do my own hack for Auto Headlights.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Wanneroo jeep first choice.

I would stay away from the DVG group.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Found our first defect.
Fingerprints between the blackout and the glass on the rear. Can only be seen at certain angles or with the light on the rite angle it stands out like a dirty hand print.
At the dealers now.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Interesting start to the new jeep ownership....

How is your paintwork? Mine is pretty crap. Every panel has a blemish, either a piece of lint/dust trapped in the painwork causing a small bubble or rough spot. In other places it looks like the colour has not taken. Mine is dark charcoal, and there are 3 or 4 light grey spots on the paintwork. I've only had euro cars the past 10 years and have never seen anything quite this bad. Is this the general standard.

The Sat nav never worked from day 1. I currently have a loan unit, while a new one is one order.

And... i have intermittent warning message all over the dash. You will see in another thread under troubleshooting, but they are ABS warning, ACC, FCW, Parking Assist, Air Suspension Service, Service 4WD.

Great start so far... 600km and 11 days old, 21 hours of engine run time. I wonder what next week will bring. Will i regret buying American? most likely.

Ive used Leo Muller Mansfield for my 1000Km check and 2 warranty issues so far. They have been good to deal with but i am thinking of trying the new Salters dealership in Moorooka since its easier to get to.

Hows everything going for you so far Aussie?

Were you offerred a 1000k peace of mind check by your dealer, my dealer told me to come in at 6 months for first service and nothing before, I have a couple of warranty concerns, radio crackling and still waiting for correct towing sticker for B pillar (I have the V6 petrol one on a diesel).
