I've tried hard to pick a fault but I am struggling, it's just a pleasure to drive.

If I have to pick something then I guess I'll say 2 things:

1. on acceleration it sounds like there's a exhaust leak through the manifold or somewhere in the pipe (like an old Holden of mine did years ago). It may not be the case, just sounds that way. Maybe it's a CRD thing?

2. Rear driver side passenger door could do with a better alignment, it sits proud of the body by 2-3mm, down at the wheel arch end. All other doors are fine.

I'll get these looked at at the first service.

I did find out that Salters paid a pretty penny to poach a specialist Jeep tech to join them (from Sydney I think) so I may give suss them out nearer the time.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Ours has been perfect, I thought the windscreen washers did not work, but due to me not RTFM, the dealer needed to show me....most embarrassing.
We have done our first tank, got 750km out of the last, but the wife filled it up after it still had 1/4 left.
Going to arrange the tint on the front and giving it a wash this week. My main problem is the lack of driving I get in it.

Do you hear the exhaust thing I mentioned on acceleration on your CRD? Windows up, music off. Could be, and probably is nothing, just want to compare notes....

I've only had euro cars the past 10 years and have never seen anything quite this bad. Is this the general standard.

The Sat nav never worked from day 1. I currently have a loan unit, while a new one is one order.

And... i have intermittent warning message all over the dash. You will see in another thread under troubleshooting, but they are ABS warning, ACC, FCW, Parking Assist, Air Suspension Service, Service 4WD.

Great start so far... 600km and 11 days old, 21 hours of engine run time. I wonder what next week will bring. Will i regret buying American? most likely.
Hmm, I was very hesitant buying a Jeep after owning an extremely reliable but boring Prado, however, working with the motto "Rather regret the things I did than the things I didn't do" I brought one and I am completely satisfied, Paintwork etc is perfect, a little over 10,000km travelled now, still nice and quiet, these threads make us all very aware of any faults and what to look out for, which is great.... I don't think its the most capable 4wd out there, but on the road feels like a sports car after the Prado, great fun... One thing that did happen the first time I ever locked it the alarm went off, it was at an airport carpark, I was nearby on the phone thinking bloody morons with their car alarms...Doh! Knowing my luck after blowing sunshine up it, it'll probably fall apart next time I drive it.... Anyway sorry to hear that your understandably disappointed with your jeep, hope the dealer can sort things out, paintwork is a bit of a worry though, hard to understand how it could of left the factory like that, to think somebody's getting paid for doing such a poor job of checking, let alone who or what painted it, surely better quality control would save them money in the long run... I think the general standard is a little higher than what you've ended up with, having said that, what do others think?

Mine was a demo and had 3000Km on it when i picked it up. The dealer said they do a 1 month inspection and rang me a few weeks later to book it in. Thats when i got my first couple of warranty issues sorted. Ill be due for the 13K service in about 3 weeks. A couple more things I want looked at but nothing dramatic.

I know what you are saying, just for a brief second the car sounds like a diesel, then the sound disappears ?
The one I tested did it and so does mine. I think it is more to do with the turbo, once it kicks in all is quite. I do not know if it has an electronic bypass on the wastegate, but it is noticeable as the car is so dam quite.

Were you turning rotating the end (Mist), not pushing?

Me too took about 1700km to work it out had to go to the manual.
Was ready to call the dealer in the morning. Checked all the fuses.
Had me beat kept reading mist on the stalk, not misting LOL.
PUSH the bloody thing.

Got the fingerprints removed. Wax on the rear window, and the front had wax as well had to be scraped of and cleaned. Looked clear. fingernails did not scratch into it.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Yeah twisting not pushing. There are so many icons on the bloody stalk, that I confused the rear one with the front one. You twist and the front wipers go, but no washers. It must just be to do a quick wipe. Very embarrassing as the wife had to make a special trip to the dealers and they could not find the problem. The problem was sitting in his office hoping the fix would not take weeks. I am glad there was no problem as the car is great.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I haven't paid too much attention to the stalk but driving home tonight I noticed it's not illuminated making it difficult to see what the icons are at night. You'd think with a cabin lit up like a 747 cockpit they would have thought to illuminate a stalk that performs some vital functions. They light up the drink holder and not a multifunctional stalk? Makes no sense. Maybe the next model.....

Hey Wardy, I feel for you brother, you should not have to spend a fortune, wait 5 months and receive a defective product. I know I'm stating the obvious but have you taken it back and demanded they fix or offer to exchange? Defective paint and the electrics are majors. Not only are there QA issues but these problems have taken the gloss off the purchase and experience for you. Your dealer needs to own your problems.....

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Enforcer, thoughts were going through my mind.
Drive 600k back to Perth, find fault order part.
Drive back to Kalg.
Drive back to Perth get it fixed.
Back to Kalg 2400km for washers!
I am glad it was operator error.
