Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hi there, first post for me but i have been reading through these forums. Lost many hours sifting through all the awesome information!

I was looking around for a car february for when my lease is up this June. Came across the GC and i fell in Love. Was going to place an order when i found out in march there was going to be a problem with shortages with the QL but luckily my dealer had a laredo demo in stock with QL so i managed to place an order and snavel it up. Ended up with a Dark Charcoal, with a chrome styling pack with nudge bar which i didnt really want but it looks good. Looks like the nudge bar creates issues with the recovery points on the front so i might have to sell it.

Im getting custom leather trim installed this week. Hope it turns out ok!

Im kind of the opposite of most people here, my Jeep is ready in the next couple of days but due to my old lease not expiring until late June i have to wait another 5 weeks before i can have it. Very painful, i just want it now!

Meanwhile my warranty and rego are decreasing by the day and im going to end up with about 6 months of no warranty before the 3 year lease is up. I guess at least im lucky enough to have it for when i need it. If i had placed an order for a new build it looks like i might have been in for some dramas.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hi Jay.
The warranty generally starts from the time YOU are invoiced for the car. So you should still have the full 3 years, less the 5 weeks. As for Rego, Dealers can add 6 months to the existing rego in most states.
I would be interested in the nudgebar, as I need one for my wife's parking and we do not go offroad, so recovery points are not an issue.

Can anyone tell me if the Oz spec comes with the illuminated door handles and pocket bin ?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Thanks Enforcer,

Thats good to hear about the warranty, when i asked the dealer he told me the warranty starts from when the car was registered. I wont be getting invoiced for the car until i pick it up so if your right i should be covered for the whole time i own the car.
I like the looks of the nudge bar and also suits me for the mrs parking capabilities, but i am hoping to get off the road in this thing not that i have any experience 4 wheel driving but ill give it a go.

Once i get the car and if i cant find a way of using the recovery points with the nudge bar ill let you know. I could easily ship it down to Sydney.

If i knew how to post a pic here id put one up lol.

What colour wood trim will you get with the Saddle? Coz I don't like the idea of the saddle with the cherry wood but love the idea of the saddle with the black olive ash

yer, it seems like the saddle would come with the sicilian elm wood, which would blend quite well I think,

Used to have the Sicilian Elm in my 300C (I think), its a very nice colour, the black might possibly look more plasticky in comparison.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the Black, but the sic elm is a nice colour

Elm is the only trim with the saddle. even when the black ash is available.
Hope to hear something in the morning if the order change was successful.
Rep hopes to get it through as it would be the first in saddle landed in Oz.

Photo time for the rep's and dealers. No driving I hope, no public crawling through it.
