By the way, I think by today more than 50% of the car parts come from "all over world" market.

Be sure, I concern more about quality of VM CRD engine than Toyoda steering pump….

Re: WK2 DownUnder

never said I was concerned about the toyoda pump.
Just found it funny to have a Toyota part in a jeep.
the jeep/Toyota rivalry

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Hehehe yes understand
By the way the producers of car parts are not so many all over world.
So if You look into each car component, You can find big surprises.
And not just small pieces but also platforms.

You may hope so???
My WK2 took longer to go from the Port of Melb to finally in my garage than it took from Curtis Bay to the Port of Melb ...remember dealer 10 days may really be 20 to 30 days.
Anyway I hope that 10 days is right you will enjoy when it finally comes.

Mine was one week from when the ship docked in Brisbane to delivery. So far very happy when I get a chance I'll post some pics. Putting the roof cross bars on this weekend (Low profile Thule). So far 800Klms in two weeks and averaged 9.5L around Brisbane (CRD)

Hi Baxter really keen to see how those roof racks look like as I am looking for some as well but wasn't keen on anything that stood out to much.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Almost today
Run up the back of a caravan.
After traveling at a 110km/h for 100km.
Came up behind a caravan slowing for a T junction.
ACC slowed me don nicely, then i started to brake lazily had only my big toe of my work boot on the brake.
Almost stopped 6' from the van then pressed a little harder to hold my jeep there.
And my foot slipped of hitting the accelerator (gas) engine revved like crazy, I held on waiting for the bang. NOTHING Jeep did not move, got my foot back on the brake, check my pants all OK heart pounding. Thinking what just happened, something beep and flashed on the EVIC did not see it. Did the collision avoidance kick in. "Enhanced Accident Response System (EARS)" "Forward Collision Warning (FCW)"

any way something disengaged that transmission and let the engine rev around 4000rpm, and saved me. Love my jeep.

Don't drive tyred,
Don't be complacent.

Deserthucker, great to hear you didn't damage yourself or the car. Sounds like the GC was looking after you though...
