Re: WK2 DownUnder

Picked her up today.less than 20k on the clock. Itching to drive at any excuses. Have just fitted the chrome driving light infills and the Pedal Kit and now working my way through putting my music on the Hard drive. That brake pedal cover is a nightmare to get on, If anyone is contemplating it I found really hot water and a very light wipe of washing detergent around the edges of the pedal helped a lot.

Why close it.
It is still good for general discussion.
Why start a new thread all the time.
Like the main WK2 thread every new question a new thread.
Then there are multiple threads of the same thing.

Look at how long it has been going for now?
I think it has brought us all together.

We should be careful what new threads we start.
There are so many duplicates.

A lot with no closure.
IE "I have problem X and the dealer tried XYZ" thread goes for a couple of pages then the original poster disappears without sharing his hers resolution.

Think before opening a new thread.

Is it AUS related or is it in general.
If it is regional related, post in the international forum.
If it is general, post in the US forum, you will most likely get a broader reply.

And this is why this thread was started, support for our AU/NZ brothers.

Are we going to start a new thread every time someone places an order?

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I agree that this thread should NOT be closed, as it is our general Chitchat thread for Aussies..
Remember this is the EXPORT model, so EU, SA and Asia will also be included under this section. They are not as active as us Aussies, but they are still places under this section.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Had my Overland for 1 month last Friday 5500km.
Loving it so far.
Next week should test the air-con, forecast for 35-38c.
Should have another long trip 1200km return see how she handles the heat.

Changed the oil today used Fuchs GT1 0w-20.
Done a 10km test 3pm Friday 28c 110kmh averaged 11.8l/100 on the OBDII monitor.
repeated it again today after the oil change same time same location 10.6l/100
Hmm did not think oil would make that great effect on it. Does feel more responsive and smooth. (may be in my mind).

Another thing I done while out on a quite road held it at 3000rpm each gear, clearly got 6 gears.
then set ACC at 70kmh in second gear 3500rpm changed up to 3rd revs dropped 3050rpm bugger all difference from 2nd to 3rd.
Then changed to 4th revs dropped to about 1800rpm then set ACC to 110kmh changed up to 5th 2150rpm then to drive and 1850 rpm.
So the 2011 HEMI with the software update has 6 usable gears.
If you drive steady in D Drive revving out to 3500 you can hear all 6 gears and see it on the OBDII digital rpm display. 5th and 6th helps to have a passenger to monitor the OBDII. Wish I had one with data logging

+1 for keeping thread alive.

Starting to get so antsy, should be delivered in about a months time. (I've got goosepimples just thinking about it)

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Ok seems workable for general chat but if there is a particular topic better to start a new thread me thinks..

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Mine is the 731RHP, which is the 730 Export model.
I am not sure where to get the satnav details, but from the sysinfo page:
Application: 1.911
Database: HPS9-A1105 4.1.1
Gracenotes: 3267
SDS: 237246
System: 658 001 2.17

I have not done any investigation as to updating with later firmware, but it is on the cards.
Hope this is the info you are looking for.

Thanks Enforcer Mine is an REP model and the the only info I can find on that model is in the 300c forums but relating back to 2009/10. My database, gracenotes and application numbers are different and appears to be a 2010 database. I am sure its not the case but I just hope I haven't been duded on and old model as it was dealer fitted.
