Re: WK2 DownUnder

Has anyone else received a leather bound book with JEEP embossed on the front cover sent by a company called Lithocraft in Victoria ? The book contains blank pages and on the first page has a stamp that says "Jeep Grand Cherokee - Cleared for Entry - Australian Immigration" ? Mine arrived today but with no card or note to say who it was from? Bit Strange.

Looking at an S5 Cabrio, but I really don't wanna spend 30k more than the Jeep.

There is an Overland v8 avail on carsales,

but I've got one with the Saddle Interior on order.

so i might as well wait.

For anyone that had a long wait, did they appeal to Chrysler/dealer for freebies?

No I did not get one.
When did you get your jeep?
Mine was in September.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

hmmm,

was looking into the A5 Cabrios, this is the best one I can find (features are similar to the JGC Overland)

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...iolet&trecs=24

But then again, my overland is only 3-4 weeks away, and this is another 8k or so, for a car which is 2010/23000kms/2 years old already/used/silver with black interior.

My JGC is White gold with Saddle interior. Think I'm gonna wait.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

I ordered my jeep on 30th May and it has only just made it to Curtis Bay in the last few days. I have an estimated delivery date of 25th December.

Might send an email off to Lithocraft to see if they can shed any light on it!

Yeah I got one in the mail yesterday,

Same as you, no letter or other information. I didn't get home til late so didn't even notice the jeep logo on the front at first. Wasn't until I noticed the same stamp in the front cover dated 18th March as if I needed a reminder of how long I've been waiting

The silly thing is that it reads like a passport with an entry into australia date but mine wasn't even built until August so the march date is pointless really.

Haha, yeah, Agreed they are extremely different cars, but they are around the same price. And tbh, I am buying the JGC for the size/wagon/practicality, not for the off-road capability (I'm 6ft9in and 180kgs), so it'd be nice to have a comfortable car.

I do find the Audi quite comfortable though, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, soo difficult to decide. At this stage I'm still leaning towards keeping my Jeep order active.

Re: WK2 DownUnder

Update on delivery, called into dealer today and they now have the car, reason for long delay (19 Oct to now) was that the car was "marine quarantined". Delivery will be by Friday due to fitting extras. Grand Cherokee Limited with QL & Luxury Group II - Bright Silver

Re: WK2 DownUnder

We operate a customs / AQIS bond store and clear imported and exported vehicles everyday and "marine Quarantine" is a load of BS. Your dealer is not telling you something that you probably ought to know.

Cars are driven directly from the manufacturing plant on to roll on / roll off vessels. They are driven on bitumen / concrete with no soil contamination.

I'd check the VIN and go over the car with a fine tooth comb before you sign for it. Either your dealer is very lazy (quite likely) or it's been damaged / repaired.

A 1 month delay from the vessel's arrival is just too long.
