Just picked up my Limited in Mineral Grey 24 klm on it, for $55k drive away. Thought it was a good deal but now regretting not getting the tech pack for the GPS.
Has anyone imported accessories from USA , looking at chrome door sills and Chrome fog light bezels. Both Mopar and Just for Jeeps will not ship to Australia, even tried Amazon.com
yeah, i use myus.com for all my freight forwarding. super efficient and great freight rates. I had front and rear steel framed bumper bars sent for my quad bike, the box was as tall as me (6 foot) and i freaked out thinking the bill was going to be $1000.... it was only $384, and the bars themselvs a 1/4 of the price in Oz. All up, half price.
Just a note for Laredo buyers. My 3.6 Laredo with QL was delivered without the reverse camera. The dealer made no mention of it and I have had to push hard to get them to install it. It is now in place after 3 weeks and, in my opinion, a necessity as the driver's view out the back is very poor. Just be sure you get it.
A few other comments:
The inferno red ad-car has been located at Parramatta Jeep for a long time. Don't know if it still is. My daughter loved the colour but my wife didn't!
My first measured full tank of E10 petrol returned 18.3 l/100km. The car display shows 16.8. I'll have to do further measurements but it is a little disappointing. My driving has been urban and small roads, hasn't seen a motorway.
Did a bit of 30cm rock hopping on the way and with QL in highest position, 4WD low, the car just rode over it, no fuss at all except for the mudflaps scraping but not braking. Quite impressed with that! Also, QL park mode saves changing the antenna to get into my garage.
Hmm, The mud flaps cop it off road don't they, going forwards they seem pretty tough, but in reverse my front ones kinked in the middle pretty easily.... I know its a jeep and should keep going forwards, but not always....My economy seems to getting better with 7k on the clock now, They're great cars, smile every time I start it!
Enforcer,
Can't be long now.
Dealer told me 10 days after it is unloaded.
Got a Qantas roll-out next week, and BOC upgrade on the 19th.
Some were in that time got to go to Perth 600km to pickup the car, get the tint done in Perth. and back to Kalgoorlie.
My dealer did not return my call today and I was in meetings. I expect it this week, but who knows. Jeep dealers are not well known for keeping us CUSTOMERS up to date with anything. I hope they do not call and say it is ready, as I need to get the finance finalised.
I should be ordering my JGC Limited CRD any day this week only dilemma I want integrated sat nav as I hate sticking things to the windscreen but $3200 seems a bit steep. It comes as part of the luxury pack if you order from factory but they are quoting the same price for just the unit if fitted later. Has anybody used the Jeep system and what are your thoughts on the system? and would anybody know if you can integrate an aftermarket unit ie VDO Dayton pc5500 or similar as I have a unit I have pulled out of my Ford Territory?
I just think our car is about to be written off by the insurance company, so we may need to pull the pin very soon. I assume all cars ordered now will be the MY2012 model. But I'm not sure if that means anything for our market versus what the US is getting.
GOOD NEWS !!!
My new car will be ready this week, so hopefully we will pick it up on Friday.
zz that is for USA pricing, here in Oz, they will not be discounting. If anything they will just put the price up some more as us dumb aussies will pay anything for a good car apparently.
Any Jeep ordered to spec will not be seen here until Feb/March next year. You will need to find a dealer with stock to get it anytime soon.
I did custom leather for my Laredo through my dealer in Brisbane, they sent it to a local place that specialises in it. Cost was around $2200. Sunroof not an option on Laredo.
I just got a quote for a "stone white" Laredo CRD; the quote included additional $450 cost for paint. I would have thought white wasn't a premium colour.

I posted a new thread in the WK2 general forum re Overland trim not being as per brochure / website and there have been many disappointed owners. In hindsight I should have posted it here.
I have the saddle/black in mine, but was told it would most likely have the cherry wood As advised by the state rep. But looking at the new Brochure I would think it is the medium burl wood
How long did it take for the dealer to give you a VIN for tracking and did Jeep give you confirmation of the Saddle or is that done thru the car dealer?
Well done to those whose delivery is imminent. It must be an exciting feeling after the long waits for many.
I had a conversation with Chrysler Jeep Australia yesterday in why they have been unable to allocate an "E" number for my order.
Evidently their allocation of Overlands for October production is full and it will have to slip back to November production.
So I am somewhat peeved as the dealer, even only a matter of hours before I spoke to Chrysler Jeep Australia, was still saying October production for November / December delivery.
They said they will see what they can do, however not holding my breath.
Swampy,
I would troll the carsales website and find a dealer with stock of close to what you want.
There should be a few spares after the recent deliveries. It is very evident that demand has outstripped supply and they are unable to meet the customers expectations. This is not uncommon for imported cars, as there are many Euro makers quoting 6+ month waits.

Unfortunately we want a Deep Cherry Red Overland and as it will be an MY12 production, there is none available in Australia (that I can find).
I know that if we relaxed our colour requirement, we could probably grab one. However we are not desperate, I just become a little peeved when we are told one thing and the reality is another.
I do not know but do suspect that it is not the dealer's fault, rather that it is Chrysler Jeep Australia not telling the dealers what is really going on.
The dealer even sent me his latest vehicles list from Chrysler Jeep Australia and mine is still listed as October production, but with no "Commission" or "E" number. Hence my call to Chrysler Jeep Australia who then avised that there is no E number beacause they have no Overland vehicles left for their October build Allocation.
