Hi all

I've been searching all morning for the link to the doc with the list of differences between the 2011 and 2012 model types. I saw it only a couple of days ago and all my searching in the forums have been to no avail. If anyone has a link they could post i'd be greatly appreciative.

I've got the option to purchase a 2011 Limited, and want to know the differences between it and the 2012 so i can decide whether the discount is worth it.

Cheers

Can I ask a dumb question - the build sheet shows the car as having "Rear load levelling suspension". (other being the source of the mysterious knocking that seems to plague some WK2s), what is this feature and how does it work?

Our WK2 that has just been delivered has the 800 battery and according to the dealer the upgrade software has sorted the issue that was in earlier builds relating to the radio. Time will tell.......
I am keeping the keys away from the vehicle as well at night and as far as I can tell it is going to sleep, at least all lights go off and the display shuts down.

Cheers for that. Mines ordered, no order number yet but told it will be built end of April and to expect it 3 months after that (Jul/Aug). Its a bugga that there is an identical one in NSW for the same price available now but I knew the long build time as I ordered it.

Well, I finally picked up my Overland yesterday, what a great car. The pre-delivery from the dealer was pretty ordinary to say the least, lots of smears on the paintwork and glass where product hasn't been wiped off properly. While it doesn't phase me too much, as I am getting a detailer to apply opti-coat and tinting during the week, it is a bit slack. In fairness though, the dealer only got it that morning and was trying to get it out to me the same day. Pre-delivery briefing consisted of "you probably know more about the car than we do, here's the keys". I was happy for that rather than be shown what I already knew. I got a set of books with it in a vinyl wallet that is too small for them, I wish I had kept the wallet from my outlander which was far better quality. I believe I have Jeep Assist with the warranty, but there is no card and it wasn't mentioned to me at delivery. The slush mats weren't in the vehicle but the salesman I was dealing with was off sick and the sales manager was on his day off, so I'm sure those little issues will be sorted when I speak to them. 45km on the clock BTW.

Driving home, I noticed the EVIC display shows your direction at the top of the display (S for South, NE for North East etc) nice touch I wasn't aware of. GPS put me somewhere in the middle of the ocean. I tapped poi nearby and the closest fish shop was in Karratha 6647 km away. This morning it appeared to have corrected itself initially and was showing the street I was driving to. I set a poi to navigate to which is when things got weird again. As I was driving from Lane Cove to North Parramatta, the Gps had be driving through bush land in a totally different direction. When I pulled up at North Parramatta it was showing I was somewhere around Hornsby. Anyone know how to calibrate the GPS? The only thing I can think of is it is not locating enough satellites to get a proper fix.

When I get home from kids sport I will devote a couple of hours to programming the unconnected and familiarising myself with the features. Initial fuel consumption after 100km around town is around 10.5 lt/100km

Damn predictive text, please ignore weird spelling in the last post (unconnected instead of Uconnect etc)

If there is no configeration menu in the Navigation, where you input where you are, then you will simply need to let the nav run for an hour or so while it finds itself. Remember it has had a bit of a shock going to sleep in Detroit, and waking up in Sydney.

Thanks Ally, seems to have come good after a couple of hours

SatNav is working fine now, recalibrates quickly if I take a detour. Really like the next turn showing up in the EVIC display.

Does the Satnav have a night mode for the display? I can't see anything in the manual.

Guys,
how long does it take for the dealer to issue an order number that can be tracked through production? Mines been on order a couple of weeks but I don't want to hassle the dealer if the order number takes a while.

Cheers.

Oops, spoke too soon about the satnav correcting itself.

This afternoon I left work at Parramatta to go home to Kellyville,,which is basically north though Baulkham Hills and Castle Hill.

Satnav showed me at Silverwater heading east through Canada Bay cross the Parramatta River, ( bonus, I didn't realise the overland was amphibious!) up through Ryde and finish at Lane Cove. It wasn't following any roads, just heading cross country.

Both times it has gone haywire started in the correct location. I've punched in an address to go to and when I have detoured from the planned route, it hasn't rerouted, but shown me elsewhere. It can't be poor satellite signal, both occasions agave been bright sunlight and cloudless and even if it was a poor satellite signal, that wouldn't account for what it is doing. I thought initially it must be case of recalibrating to Australia from the USA, but it has been four days now and it was working fine yesterday and this morning.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

It also classes Kellyville and Castle Hill as Baulkham Hills for some strange reason, even though it lists the post codes for each suburb correctly

You need to do some testing. Such as can you see whether you have adequate satellite signals? You need at least 3 sats to get an accurate position. Does the display show bars for sats it sees?

If you are sure you have sat reception, are you able to see Lat/Long coordinates? if so, do these compare to the maps?
If the Lat/Long are correct, but the map is not, then you know it isnt a GPS issue, but a map overlay one.

Next, you could try doing a reset. If there is no way to do this on the screen, you may need to disconnect the battery for 15mins.

Failing all that, it may need the dealer to intervene. They can do a reset through their computer.
Let us know how you go?

I am just up the road from you if you need further assist. (The Ponds/Rouse Hill)

Mine done some thing quirky before I updated the software.
Showed my location 5km away from where I was.
Came rite after turning the car off.

Thanks Ally

Does yours show Rouse Hill as Baulkham Hills out of interest?

Yay!! Just got the VIN for my GC that I ordered in December and found out it's on the ship Talisman, with an expected dock in Brisbane on 24/04! Does anyone know how long it will be before I take delivery? I live in Brisbane...

#2,128 ·
You rock!
Tamerlane was expected to dock at Appleton Dock an hour ago. Should I go down and wave? Im guessing its about 4w before I get my hands on it - sound about right?? (also getting tow bar and aftermarket leather).

Built 26/01
Loaded on vessel (Curtis Bay MD) 13/02

argh the longest wait I've ever had - never again.

I read on another forum that Jeep sorts out the issue with the obsolete front recovery hooks that were deleted on MY12's with a design modification that introduces a further structural change to the front end. This allows the recovery hooks (supplied as a stowed item) to be fitted as required with hooks rated for true recovery and not just towing that has limited the MY12 as a true off-roader and upset many owners. I read the design mod may come into affect for the Australian market on vehicles manufactured from April.
PS, with a 3rd Qtr delivery, can I ask when you signed up for yours and if you have an order number yet.

Cheers.

August delivery is MY12. That means it would be built in June. Production starts in July for MY13 and due for relaese in Sept (USA).
I would think that you won't see MY13's in Oz until late October at the earliest
