Steve 8. the headlight washers only work every other push of the windscreen washer.
Also must have a sensor in them mine came on the other day following a water cart watering a mine road. They got muddy and washed themselves.
Bit hard being a city dweller to get mud flicked up on the headlight . Strange how there's no mention of it's operation in the book or on stalk.....or have I missed something?

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

No the HID washers come on with the normal windscreen washers, but on every 4th or 5th push it will activate the HID washers for their cleaning cycle. Your headlights do not need to be on.
Mine came on when I was on the freeway and a heap of water came up from the headlights when I was cleaning my screen.

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

Thanks folks, mystery is now over!

Last night as I was pulling away from work I pushed the washer 3-4 times and a spray burst came from the front. I walked out and lo and behold, I had wet headlights!

I tried it again (....and I would not recommend anyone try this method), this time door open, standing outside to see the action "live". Leaned in, pushed stalk 3-4 times and again it work though this time I copped a spray in the face from the windshield washer !

LOL. and you would not recommend that? Maybe Jeep could add that "feature", of getting a face full of spray, as a "keep alert" function for drowsy drivers

That's funny. You may need to add wipers to your sunglasses.

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

Picked up the new Overland today, initially I thought no headlight washers but they appear to retractable. But what I don't have is the Tow/Haul switch which I thought came with the Overland or is it part of Jeep /Mopar towbar fitting?

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

Congratulations, another one notched up for WA!

I think the Tow / Haul switch you're looking for is only available with the hemi.

Soak up the new car feeling!

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

AussieWK2 is correct.
Jeep deemed the switch not necessary on the diesel.

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

Parking brake switch. I have the identical problem and it has confounded the dealer to the point that yesterday I was told "you have a faulty brake fluid level sensor." Guys (grrr) the parking brake works with a cable!! All I want them to do is to adjust the setting of the switch above the pedal.

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

The switch is definitely faulty. Now with park brake engaged, no light on dash, when released lights flashes.

Apart from the chime sounding at every set of lights light it also prevents the ACC to operate on the freeway.

Off to service dept with my small list of minor repairs, the chime is driving me nuts....
