Re: WK2 Offroad

In the video, it looks like the brakes are being applied to the left front wheel when you were stuck, just not enough power transferred to the other wheel to get you moving.

So clearly in my video this didn't seem to happen.
The dealer said they checked if there were any fault codes, they found everything was normal.

mmm I'm going to have to experiment this weekend.
I'll try just mud mode and auto and see what happens.....
Yes, but as the manual says in rock mode:
...Traction based tuning with improved steer-ability for use on
high traction off-road surfaces....

So it intentionally reduces brake locking to allow better steering. But that front wheel spinning shouldn't be a problem, you will still be getting 50% torque to the rear wheels, but it looks like they were just slipping on loose gravel.

Re: WK2 Offroad

I know I'm in the US but you guys tend to appreciate the WK2's off road capabilities more so here is a video from yesterday for analysis. By the way Chief needs their lower guard and prerunner on the market soon.

This trail is an in and out so what goes down must come up later.

Nice! Looks like a fun ride.

Is that in CO?

*Agreed on Chief needing to get their products out here soon. I want to suit up for the Grand Slam West if I'm fit and able to in time.

Re: WK2 Offroad

Looks great BigcAt! The first descent - were you using Hill Descent Control, or low gear and brakes?
Thanks,
Russell

Hmmm, Beware of the electronics "helping" the offroad ability, I had to get retrived out of my own paddock yesterday, wet grass with a gentle slope.... very embarrissing indeed!

If you have SELEC-TRAC, then for wet grass the owner's manual says to switch it to the 'Sand' setting.

Can you tell us a bit more Jefferson.oz? Such as which modes you tried? I reckon I could just about get stuck in a paddock on wet grass with "auto" selected, as it sometimes seems pretty close to 2wd to me. But " mud" has never left me wheel spinning on wet grass. Having said that, I agree with the electronics sentiment- especially after my experience with it not holding gears downhill as I posted earlier.
Thanks,
Russell

I was using Hill Desent Control, once you learn to use the shifter/paddles to determine your speed it's great!
