Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Perhaps its only a feature of the pre 2013. I read the flashlogic site for the module and it does say it supports shutdown. But I believe it maybe a different module to what your using for the 2014.

Salmo are you running a flashlogic remote start module in your 2014?

Nothing. Just stock factory standard.

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Agh that explains it, the three lock pushes shuts down the jeep using the aftermarket module.

Got excited thinking someone else had a module in a 2014 so I could pick your brains for the install

Sorry about that salmo (the getting wet bit), I'm running the flash logic remote start on my GC, so when I push the lock button on my remote 3 times the GC starts, if I then push the lock button on the remote 3 times with the GC running it shuts off

I did get a bit excited and didn't mind going to check on the GC, but I couldn't possibly work in such conditions.
I would really like remote start but I'm not sure I could install it. I'll wait a little longer.

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Hi all,

What is the latest?

Any confirmation that the after-market fob will start and shut down a Australian 2014 model?

Or did we just get all excited ..... with no happy ending?

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Tahlee,

I'm planning on ordering one shortly with a web link cable, so I can flash after install hopefully I can install it when I'm home from work next on the 2nd July.

Bit nervous about pulling apart the interior but worth it in the long run I think.

Cheers,
Chris

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Hi Chris,

Are you getting Mopar Part Kit 82213881

See at the bottom of the following page for the 2014 model

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Remote Start kits - Mopar

Seems a bit of a task replacing the hood and modifying the tailgate

WK2 - remote start down under.

Tahlee,

I'm planning on purchasing the flash logic module FLRSCH7 and a weblink cable to "flash" the module using flashlogic firmware a second time after pairing the module with the vehicle, this second flash is a new step for the 2014 remote start module.

It's an aftermarket module that is inserted into the wiring before the push to start button, if my understanding is correct, it performs the usual start sequence (without unlocking the steering column or doors) and then when you hop in the vehicle you perform a "take over" by pressing the brake.

There have been flash logic modules installed successfully on pre 2014 GC in AUS with no dramas, but the extra flash makes it a bit more difficult for us. The seller flashes before shipping and that was it, but now it requires flashing after install so I am purchasing a cable and will register for an account to perform the post flash. I will be happy to post the cable out for people to use to save the $50 purchase for others if there's interest.

Any more questions just ask.

Oh I forgot, there is a hood switch input but I'm under the impression that it doesn't need to be connected, even if it was it would be simple to trick it. It's only a safety measure so the vehicle can't start with the hood open.

The module also has a "valet" mode which disables the remote start feature for things like servicing.

Sorry for the novel.

Cheers
Chris

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Looks like the flashlogic module I bought has arrived my office with 3 day! Although it stated it would arrive next week... US to WA, Perth in 3 days is faster than some couriers.

Oh, I wont be back till late next week as Im on business travels at the moment. Spewing.
