Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

The other issue with the OEM unit is that in Australia, you would also have to replace the steering shaft lock module (not in the mopar kit) as they need to be programmed/ paired to the Win module, and from memory, can only be flashed once.

Not sure if you guys have the shaft lock module but am guessing so, assuming RHD export vehicles are the same.

WRONG.. been there done that didn't work, even when the steering part was replaced. dont bother with the mopar kit , there is easier ways and much cheaper.

I have found the correct Flashlogic unit "FLRSCH7" which I can get from ebay, I guess.

But theFlashlogic unit has to be 'flashed' from what I've read, I cant do that myself. Is that correct?

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Most ebay stores will flash it for you, or you would need the cable and software to flash it. 2011
Not sure what is required for the 2014.

Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Thank you

As long as it's just the cable for the pc updates I'll get one, rather than rely on eBay seller.

I'd wrongly assumed that you needed to have a 'login' to flash the firmware.

Thank you for all your help.

Just got to get my Blackvue cash cam out of my current car, ready for the Jeep

Well there you go. Should of expected as much as that was supposed to be the "official" advice from the Techs at Jeep HQ (either that or my dealer service manager just asked one of his apprentices out the back instead of making the call).

After hearing that, I thought that the risk in buying the gear plus cost of install / programming was too great in case it still didn't work, so bailed at that point.

Must have missed your post on your failed OEM remote start install previously.

Yes i believe you need to have a login to flashlogic support website to be able to flash your module, ontop of purchasing the pc link cable.

From all that I've read, It's a two stage process. Plug in, power up, disconnect, attached to pc, reflash again. So somehow the flashlogic unit will know your cars unique id or what not.

None of us on here have gone as far to date, as even with flashlogic it will get expensive to try.

Works out around $400+ just for an attempt.

I think it works out cheaper if you can get the oem mopar from ebay then slip a 50 to the techheads at your dealer one weekend to give it a go.

Talking Re: WK2 - remote start down under.

Just waiting for the FlashLogic unit to arrive.... According to tracking it's at UK customs.

Hopefully by the end of the week, I'll be posting the details of a successful install to everyone.

I sat in my car with one of the techs and he showed me there was no option to turn on remote start. It is possible you need the module installed before it shows up, but there was other items listed that were not installed that were options.
Before you go and spend $500+ to get the Mopar remote start, check to see if the dealer even has the option to turn it on.
