Hello Paul

Thank you for your enquiry.

We have supported Jeep and have been supported by the jeep community for many year now.
We will continue to make air induction equipment for jeep while the others find them too difficult

The current Grant Cherokee is on our list
One of the major problems is access to vehicles to use as the master for manufacturing.
This is the cast with the Current Grand Cherokee.
If you know any body with a vehicle, the process is attached

Please find attached "Description of Snorkel operation"

Thank you for your enquiry.

All our products are designed, tooled and made in our Factory in Dromana, Victoria, Australia

The ___________ diesel and petrol LHD & RHD are on the list for _________

We need to collect and collate vehicle information
Year, model shape, year run and any model changes to shape "small" eg head light shape, swage in guard ect
Engine's type, year run, petrol, diesel, lts ect
Air cleaner type, inlet and outlet diameters, LH / RH side.
electric fuel injection "efi", common rail "crd", turbo, super charger, intercooler, direct injection, ect
Under bonnet photo's close then back a metre
Any changes Left hand drive verses Right hand drive under the bonnet. eg battery changes size, zxy changed position.

Subjet to access to vehicles.
At the moment we have __________vehicle lined up.

The deal is
We need the vehicle three time
1st take a mould of the guard / "A" pillar, under bonnet ect 3 to 5 hrs
2nd trial fit 3 to 4 hrs
3rd Fit the snorkel min 8 hrs, has been up to 16hrs(only once have we had a vehicle for 2 days)
We will need to dyno test the vehicle before and after a snorkel is fitted.
To check the increase in performance, airflow pressure, friction losses, fuel economy ect
This is done in Cheltenham
In the finish we have the kit made and the vehicle has the first of Cold Air Induction Snorkel free of charge.
We will take the driver through the process and shout them a cup of Tea / Coffee ect.

Let me know if you have any taker's petrol and diesel
Please pass this on to your club members

Send me your phone number and I will give you a call to dicuss further.

Keep in contact by email or phone.

No worries, we plan to do some trips this year so maybe we will catch you in Darwin. I will call them tomorrow. Jeep is going to ore on Tuesday for the ecb bar and spotlights so getting there!!

Bar is on along with lightforce spots and UHF and 3G aerials, looks ok but it is not an improvement on the original look of the car. Stil it's there for a purpose!

Good protection underneath from the new bar and means with the bash plates and rock rails I should not have too many problems. Overall happy with my choice. Will sort some photos shortly.

Fitted cost was about $2500 by ore in Mitchum. Have rung re the snorkel fit up but no reply to my message so will try again monday. UHF and iPhone cradle go in next week and a heavy duty plug for the new beer fridge! and a 75 amp thumper ordered to keep it all running.

Now to see if we can fit all the camping gear in and avoid a roof rack. The fridge sure takes up some of the limited space in the back.

I purchased the Uniden with all the controls on the microphone, unit goes under dash and hooks into cigarette socket power and microphone lead out through the storage area. That way I can put the microphone awayoutof site when parked.

Yeah, I got the same but GME. The little front compartment with the pull down door is where I was thinking. My 75amp thumper battery in the back with twin Anderson plugs, one for the battery and one for the camper trailer.

I am here: Google Maps
CAn you post an image of hpw you have set up the thumper. I am considering this optino for a dual battery

Hickers,

Can you post some pics of your Phone cradle and uhf also when you install them.
I am planning on doing the same thing. I am getting the GME UHF and putting the unit under the dash with my microphone on a bracket down by my left leg, i have no idea where to put my phone caradle yet. I still need to talk the wife into a thumper battery pack..haha

One question that has me puzzled, is why would you want a snorkel for a Petrol motor ?
I thought that only Diesels used snorkels for water crossings as you can put a diesel underwater running so long as it can breathe.

The reason for that is a standard usb connection produces 2.5 v/ 0.5amps and a standard car charger produces 5v/1.0amps. An iPad requires 10v/2.1 amps to charge. Most double usb car adapters are sharing 1.0amps between the two sockets. You can see the problem.

You will pay around $30 in JbHiFi for a single Belkin hi power car charger (I only priced them yesterday) which is an absolute rip off. If you have a look on dealextreme you can pick up hi capacity chargers for under $10 with free shipping. I have just ordered a couple of 3.1amp dual usb car chargers from Amazon which gives one 2.1amp port and one 1.0amp port so the iphone and ipad can both charge full speed.

After researching the subject, I settled on these for my in car charging needs:

Amazon.com: Mediabridge High Output Dual USB Car Charger For iPad and iPhone (3.1 Amp): Cell Phones & Accessories

USB Ports SHOULD supply power. To test, try charging your phone off one. I would be extremely surprised if they disconneted the power wire in the USB plug. Makes no sense to do it. I know there used to be issues with Sony ipods, which required a special plug, but thought those days were long gone.

This is my install for my iPhone using a ProClip Bracket and Holder, I modified and shortened a USB-iPhone cable to plug into the dash, works great, charges the iPhone and connects for music ect. as well..

iPads need more power to charge than an ipod/iphone. You will need a ciggy lighter Apple USB plug to charge the beasts. I tried a normal ciggy lighter USB and it did not work, but one designed for the ipad was fine.

Phone cradle, UHF and heavy duty fridge power supply all done today. Worked out well and will be interested to see what difference the smoothtalker cradle and rfi CDQ mobile aerial make in marginal areas. Nice to remove yet another cigarette plug lead too. Mounted cradle on right hand side alongside wheel attached to a bracket secured behind vent surround with aerial and power lead behind dash side panel. Just need the thumper to turn up and then next week off to dargo and whistlers rest.
When the spots were installed ore were not able to hook them into the high beam supply due to the canbus wiring so they are manual on off only, anyone have any ideas how this could be resolved. Thanks

Could they not run a wire down to the lights, Hmmm i hope someone can find a solution to this, Perhaps Magoomba can shine some light on this when he gets his car. If not i will have a look into it when i do my install. I have the same smoothtalker cardle and RFI antenna, can you post some pics of your install when you get a chance.

Cheers,

Hi Hickers any pics of your installs ?
Don't know about else were but in the NT spot lights have to be wired to go off when you dip to low beam, as far as I would be concerned ore have made your GC unroad worthy and you could be defected, I would not of paid for the spot light install

It is true that spots need to dip on the high beam stalk switch, it also needs its own switch to isolate them. BUT...how often do you see a 2011+ model doing a road worthy. In NSW we do not need a pink slip for the first 3 years, in QLD and VIC I think you only need them once you sell the car.

How do you find the bar fits to the car. Does it stick out a fair way from the bumper? I was looking at getting an Ecb bar but might wait till arb brings one out. Would you get the bar again if you had a choice.

#31 ·
yes i would fit it again and it adds very little overall length to the jeep, finish is good, you can still access the tow hooks and the plate underneath matches up well with the mopar skid plates so the underneath is much better protected.
