I have the same noise as matt. I have written about it on this forum on a couple of occasions and found that several others are experiencing it. I really don't think that it's got anything to do with the power steering (but I'd be really interested to hear from Dreamer if this "new part" fixes it). My power steering reservoir has never been empty/low.

I have told my dealer about the whistle on 2 different occasions and even took them for a test drive and reproduced the sound. they tried to say that it was my roof racks, which is complete rubbish as I had only just fitted the racks and the whistle has been there since the day I go the vehicle. They didn't want to know anything further about it.

I really think that it's a drive train issue - maybe a prop shaft - as the whistle sounds to my like it's originating from the drivers side front wheel area.

The good news is that it doesn't seem to affect anything in terms of the cars performance or drivability ... it's just annoying.

For reference, I have a 2014 Laredo CRD ... awesome vehicle, it can even whistle!

I've got a 3.6 V6 with just 1600 km on the clock and on occasions have heard a whistle sound but only when travelling at about 50 - 55 km/h. It disappears when I apply the brakes - mine doesn't sound like the transmission though. It's only occurring rarely so not really annoying at this point.
